One thing you can do is report it to ripoffreport.com and take some pictures of it. The media gets involved on that site from time to time. I know I was talking to them about a product line a few months ago and spoke with a consumer reported in Ohio. If you Google it by make and model number, you might be able to find out who the manufacturer is and see what the complaint area is like.

See if the remote has a model number listed and look for a second-hand on EBay or other online seller. You can even try a company called Fox International to see if they have the original. Did you change the batteries first?

If it's not too late, return it Walmart - there is no support for these products.

I wish I had the code, but no. If it is forthcoming then it will be via a hacker, or someone who gets lucky. I just got an email back from lenoxx customer service (the guys who made the 1002 ... at least, the one I have) and they have gone bankrupt:

I too have a remote that no loger works; one of the components snappped off (past repair) while my wife was simply changing tracks on a cd.

Contact your local Wal Mart store. If this unit was manufactured in 2007, it could be eligible for a return since the manufacturer went out of business in November of 2007.

There is a "subtitle" button to the right of the "3" button. Press that until it says subtitle or caption off.

if you directly contact dura brand they can give you the code over the phone for the remote i have done so myself

Good day mate, no problem you can plug your dvd direct to your outlet since it indicates 100 - 240V it only means your player is capable of having either 110V 0r 220V.

note: also try to check 1st if you will see a voltage selector at the back of your dvd player. it's either a slide switch indicating 110 or 220V. if no sign of this selector no problem you can plug your player straight to your socket.

Check your TV setup, especially scart socket/AV menu. It is possible your scart menu is on av priority.

The original vendor who made these DVD players for Wal Mart went out of business in November of 2007. The only way to see if you can locate one is to contact Wal Marts 1800 customer service number to see if they have one on their end but from details listed from previous threads it's looking like there is no support available from these DVD players.
