I can't download music files

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto yourcomputer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3player.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player willcreate a MP3 music file for each music track.

Lost USB cable for my RCA Lyra MC4002A MP3 player

I work at RadioShack and have had a few customers ask about this. We don't have one specifically for the RCA mp3 players, I had a hunch that the charger for the iPod Shuffle (the newer one, not the older one) would work. As it turns out, it does. You can order one through our stores or website that's made by DLO (catalog # 55025326 ), though most electronic retailers carry some sort of charger for the Shuffle already, and you can easily find them online, too.

"a service installation section in this INF is invalid"

If the player is showing up in your Windows' Device Manager under "portable devices" with a yellow "!":

1.) Right-click the yellow "!" and choose "update driver".
2.) When given the option to connect to Windows Update, choose "no, not this time" and click next.
3.) Choose "Install from a specific location (advanced)" and click next.
4.) Choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click next.
5.) Click the "Have Disk" button. Browse to C:\Windows\inf and choose the file marked "wpdmtp.inf"

I can't believe the generic players have such crappy support when so many people have this problem! I think the Windows file problem might be caused by "compressing old files" when you do a disk cleanup.

My computor no longer recognizes

Hello,

I would recommend that you install updated device drivers for your MP3 player. You can find the software at the link below,

On that page, at the bottom click the Downloads tab to find the software.

Afterwards, if you are still having trouble, try a different USB cord and a different USB port on your computer.

If this does not resolve the issue then you should contact RCA technical support.

Regards,
G33k

Can i add tunes from itunes?

Yes and No,

You can't sync this player with I tunes but this player should be one that shows up as a generic storage device to Windows. Your I-tunes music should be in the my music itunes directory. just move the music over from the mymusic itunes directory to the directory of the MP3 player. Some
of the music formats like AAC may not be supported and need to be transcoded into MP3 or
other usable formats. Their are different software programs that can do this.

Also, if not using an Ipod consider Songbird as an alternative to Itunes for managing your music.
and maybe gpodder for podcast and such.
