Side by side keeps popping breaker
It is very doubtful that a defrost heater would do anything by open (NOT short) so that is not a likely cause of you popping the breaker. I would look at the compressor relay and capacitor as more likely areas that would cause it. UNLESS the compressor is locked up and that would cause it everytime.

I have this Refrigerator, Whirlpool GS6SHAXMQ Side by Side and the chill side does not cool.No alarm and freezer side is fine.
Although the freezer size seems to be fine, it is probably the problem! All the cooling comes from the freezer side into the chill side. So first make sure that the fan is operating, so that cold air is blown into the fresh food side. Then check the ice build up on the evaporator coils (behind shield in the upper section of the freezer). If there is a lot of ice, maual defrost it by unplugging from power and using a hair dryer or heat gun - make sure you are ready to deal with all the water! The ice build up is caused by a failure of the defrost circuit which is made up of the defrost heater, defrost thermostat and a defrost timer that is part of the control board on your unit.Hope this helps!Hal aka ImJustAvg

The pan at the bottom
Hi,
The normal run of the fridge will not normally fill the pan, so you have a different source. In this model the water valve is next to the pan. Either you have a leaking water valve or a bad connection to the water valve. Either way the problem you will find is the water valve or line is the cause. Look from the from with a flashlight under the the freezer door, dispense water from the door and watch the valve.
Good Luck I’m happy to help further over the phone at

Ice maker stopped working
It could be frozen up. Or, the control arm could be in the up/off position. Just look around and see if you have an ice buildup. Or if that wire arm is up. If there is ice just turn the temp up a notch or two for one day and your problem will be solved.

Whirlpool GS6SHAXMQ Side by Side Refrigerator - Ice Maker Problem
This happened to me after i had to move the freezer and it was unplugged for a while. When it was plugged back in the ice maker would not work.
Assuming both the ice maker itself and the rear water AC solenoid switch are actually not broken and are functional, and you are getting water from front door dispenser, then check the inside supply tube (black) is not frozen and blocked. Check with q-tip or feel to see if frozen.
If supply tube is frozen, thaw by holding up small full clear glass of heated water placing the frozen tube into the heated water. The clear glass will allow you to see when ice slips out.
Next try resetting the freeze cycle. Turn off the ice maker switch, remove the maker by carefully disconnecting the inside power cord. You will need to remove the inside door flap. Rinse the maker with warm water, allow to come to room temp.
Re-install maker, connect power cord. Turn on ice maker switch. Make sure Infrared sensor is not blocked. Now wait for temp change and listen for water to fill tray. It took maybe ten minutes for me. You will be able to hear the water fill with the door closed.
Again, this assumes nothing is actually broken.
This worked for me. Good luck.
