Of late I am seeing

Thats a very unusual problem. I have had this drive in the past and apart from being noisy as all lite-on's seem to be it has given great service. the only suggestion i can make is that you update the firmware by going onto Lite on's site and download the latest revision of firmware. if still the same then can only assume the drive or your burning software is corrupt.

My light on dvdrw lh20 a1p will not read and durnt

I was having a problem getting my dvd (Lite-On LH-20A1P) to read my cds. I found a very simple solution that worked for me. I hope the following procedure works for others.

I have windows xp (I believe this solution may work for other window versions)

Go to "My Computer" on desktop (or in Start) and right click on it.

Click "Properties"
On the tabs at the top, click on "Hardware"
Click on "Device Manager"
Click the plus sign beside "DVD/CD ROM drives"
Double-click on Lite-On
On the tabs at the top, click on "Properties"
At the bottom, there is a box that is most likely checked that reads...
"Enabled digital CD audio for this CD-Rom device"

Uncheck it.

Do the same for all DVD/CD Rom devices you may have.

This simple solution worked for me. Now both my DVD and CD Roms are reading all of my cds.

I would suggest trying this simple step first before downloading any drivers or buying any 'Driver Update' programs - which may cause you even more problems than you are already having.
