I couldn't find any software for you.But I did find a firmware update to reset the player to factory.You can always try that first and see what happens.

There should be a program included with the mp3 player. If not, windows media player should do the trick. Plug it in and open up windows media player.

The firmware is probably corrupted. Go to RCA's site (http://rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/?sku=S2002) and download the firmware update/install utility for the model that you have.
You'll most likely have to choose the "reformat" option (which will erase all of your music) to get it to work.

See other solutions posted here about downloading new firmware. Included is holding down the play button when you turn it on and connect it. Click the box to reformat the disc and install ver 1.5 or later of firmware. It wipes the drive but it works. Good luck!

Get a needle and push the reset button located on the back.

You have to plug the mp3 player into your pc and then click on format. The data inside may be corrupted and that is the reason why you are receiving the error. After the format, you can load music again and enjoy listening to your songs.

i cant turn on my rca mp3 player modle 2001a....i had it on yesterday, but now when unplug it from my pc it wont turn on

time to buy a new one something has gone wrong with the processor by the sound of it so its cheaper to buy a new one

There is no technical way of fixing this. My recommendation to you, is to let it be until the battery dies. This usually only takes a day at the most. Once dead, fully recharge the MP3 player. Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release,right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
BE CAREFUL and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

hi, try to format the mp3 first, if doesnot works, reset the mp3 to factory settings , if you do that you loose all datas that you put in the mp3
