My hunter fan remote will
Hello
Just check your remote control for its infrared emission. The red light you see for each bytton press indicates that the internal circuit of the remote is working fine, but there is an infrared LED on the front of the remote control, which should emit infrared rays. These infrared rays, [invisible to human eye]; are received at the fan's control circuit inside. There is an infrared sensor in the fan end, which recievies these signals and processes. If this infrared LED at the front of the remote control, or the infrared sensor at the fan control circuit has damaged, the fan won't work with the remote control handset.
You can check the remote control for its infrared emission. Eventhough infrared rays are invisible to our eye, electronic cameras can. Just put your cellphone to camrea mode, and place the remote controls' front end towards the camera lens, at about one feet away from it, and press each button on the remote control. If there is any infrared emission, its image can be seen at the cellphone camera screen. If there is no image at all, make sure that the remote control is faulty. If ther is image and till the fan does not works with it, make sure that the infrared sensor inside the fans' control cirucit is faulty, and need repair. OK.
