20 Most Recent RCA RCR311B Remote Control - Page 5 Questions & Answers

Throw your RCA TV out the highest window available. Every Phone number for service reroutes you to another wrong number or website that can't help you. I finally got a number for corporate headquarters--just to get a replacement remote for the 6 month old one that stopped working--- they actually did send me a new one. IT DOESN'T WORK! Worst customer service ever, RCA products have gone to hell and warranty is meaningless. Boycott and tell everyone you know not to buy their **** products. Drive them out of business so they stop stealing people's hard earned money.

For the direct code entry, turn on the device that you want the remote to control. Find the codes for that brand of device. Then press and hold the appropriate device button (TV, for example). The on-off button will light up and remain lit. While holding the device button, enter the first four digit number for that make of device. The on-off button will turn off while you press the digits in the code and then come back on. Release the device button and check if the light for the on-off button turns off or blinks 4 times. If it flashes, the code was not properly entered or isn't a valid code. If the light turns off, check if the remote controls all of the functions of the device.

If you didn't enter a correct code or the remote doesn't control all of the features of the device, repeat the steps above. (Either correct the original code that you entered or enter another code for the manufacturer/device.)

Please note that universal remotes have code lists that are limited to those for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed. If your device is newer, then you may need a new remote.

The documentation for the remote is here: http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11073/~/programming-the-rca-rcr311b-remote-control .

I hope this helps.

In order for the 4 component universal remote to control your TV, you must program it with the TV code that matches your TV. These instructions explain the preferred method of programming the remote-the Direct Entry method.
  1. Manually turn on the TV.
  2. Locate the enclosed TV Code List. Find your brand of TV.
  3. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH key until the indicator light illuminates. Then release the CODE SEARCH key.
  4. Press and release the TV key. The indicator light blinks and then remains lit.
  5. Use the number keys to enter the first code listed for your brand. After you enter a valid three-digit code, the indicator light turns off. Note: If you enter an invalid code, the LED flashes rapidly for two seconds. Start over at step 3.
  6. Aim the remote at your TV and press the ON•OFF key. If your TV turns off, you have found the correct code.
  7. Write the code down for future reference.
  8. If your TV doesn't turn off, repeat steps 3-6 above, entering the next code for your brand. If none of the codes work or your brand is not listed, use one of the Code Search methods to program this remote.

Hello
You can do it by code search method.
Try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.
OK.

Hello
if the top light lights up, the remote controls' internal circuits are working properly. Check its infrared light emitting diode at its front, which sends infrared signals. Tthat diode may be faulty, or its soldering joints inside may got loose. Open it and check. OK.
