yes there is hope. there is always hope.. It has to dry completely, days with the battery removed. replace the battery and re-charge full 4 hours with the phone offf. Then cross your fingers and turn it on. You might have to reprogram it

well one time {i had the same fone}  my contacts started to scroll uncontrollably, like as soon as i was in "contacts" it just started scrolling down so i wen't to the verizon store and it said i had water damage so maybe that could be the case? Take the battery out of your fone and look at the little square on the back. If it is any color but purple {most likely green} that means ur fone has had water damage and that you will need it to get replaced.

i had this problem with the alarms but not the calendar on the a870. gradually, each alarm stopped saving any settings. i thought i would have to reset the phone, but instead i just clicked options --> reset all, and it fixed! 

All you have to do is hold the pound (#) button down. It will then say exit silent mode. If you ever want to put your phone back in silent mode, just hold the pound (#) button down.

i typed in 000000, then when it asked for the passcode i typed in 0000 as well and it worked for me. it mite have been 7 0's i forget

Sounds like the LCD is missing a signal getting to it. One of the signal lines is either damaged, possibly still has a small amount of liquid on it and is getting a bunch of resistance it shouldn't be.

Open the phone up, and let it sit and dry fully for a few days.

You could always try dropping it back into the rye & coke, it seemed to prefer that to water =0)

you need to take the phone to a professional mobile servicecenter and have them service the phone with a solution and hopefully that makes it better.

try another bluetooth device and if that work then try the GE Bluetooth headset.

you need to take the phone and ahve the charging port checked out to see if your port needs changing....
