No you don't. The phonetools software can be a bit flakey. Easiest way is to put a memory card into the phone and transfer to the memaory card. You could also try to bluetooth it as well.

You need to use the Motorola Phone Tools CD that came with your phone. The software isn't free so I cannot tell you where to find it, but search on google, you can use any version from 3.0 up.

The SIM card is different form a memory card. The SIM is the brain for your phone. It is the programmed data chip from a service provider that allows you to use your phone. You have to have a SIM in order for the phone to work. Good luck

Yes you can download the photos from your motorola to your PC in three ways:

1. If your Motorola has bluetooth and your PC too has bluetooth, you can turn on your bluetooth on both devices to be able to transfer your photos.

2. If your Motorola has a USB cable you can also transfer your photos by simply plugging your USB cable to your PC and access the Memory card to copy your photos.

3. Or you can simply remove the Memory card from your Motorola and slot it into the memory card reader on your PC to transfer the photos

A couple of things could b set wrong. First, make sure you're volume is turned up. Flip phone open and push the top button on left to raise the volume. Second, open phone, go to menu, cursor to settings, sounds, call ringtone, single tone. Now cursor down thru the selections to pick a ringtone. Make sure the "no ring" selection is not selected. (The current selection will have a check mark on the right side.) Select the tone you want and push the center button to save it. You can then select all your other ring tones, such as message alerts the same way.
