Uniden DECT 6.0 Cordless Telephone Expansion Handset Questions & Answers
Phone rings once, but then stops ringing and I can't answer the call
If you have a landline, most likely you have a short in it. Not enough to kill line, but, when the 90 volts a.c. comes in to ring it jumps short. The short answers the phone.. It doesn't stop out going but can cause static. Check the line at the box outside. if bad there call your phone company, if good there, trouble is in house
Out of range, buttons don't respond, battery won't hold charge
when you have a problem with anything under warranty, you take it back for new units or a refund and anything under 12 months old is under warranty
if you have lost the receipts get a copy of your bank statements as that shows where it was bought , how much it cost and when
That is a legal document to trigger a warranty action or refund

How do i handle the envelope icon next to the date?
You did not mention a specific model number; my D1481
has no such icon -- but my D1680 does, so I'll answer ref.
the D1680 model cordless phones....
That icon is a Status Report for the answering machine.
It says the answerer is ON (or off) and a digit shows how
many messages are stored ( on mine, 1 old message is still
there and not yet deleted ). Note a "cassette tape" symbol
on the bottom row of keys accesses the answering machine
from the handset.
Other models, check your manual. The model number

Turning the ringer on my phone. uniden 6.0
Without the model number of your Uniden phone, I don't know which silencing feature you are dealing with.
Some Uniden handsets have a Silent Mode. To toggle this on and off, press and hold the # key (below 9) for 5+ seconds when the phone isn't in use. When the silent mode is enabled, the handset will ask for a length of time for the 'no-ring' option. If no key is pressed, then the Silent Mode will continue until the # key is held again.
Other Uniden phones have Do Not Disturb. The button to enable/disable this will be on the cordless phone base. The answering system will automatically turn on and none of the handsets will ring when this feature is enabled.
You can also set the ringer volume to zero. Depending on the phone, you can reset this by pressing the volume up/down buttons or going through the menu. Look for the Ringer Volume in the same section of the menu as the Ring Tone options.
If you need additional information, please add a comment with the model of your phone. I hope this helps.
