Dayton Electric Heater - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Dayton electric garage heater
need to check you fan wires, some have differant colors on the moter for the differant speeds, you may need to change the fan speed by unplugging one of the wires and replacing it with another. hopefully you still have the manuel , check with it first!!!
Heater shuts off too soon
sorry did'nt read the rest of information, check the reostat inside the thermostat , is a fine wire with an adjustment, it has a small arrow pointing to some numbers. ( this is settings for a manual thermostat) on an electronic thermostat you need to check the manuel for that thermostat.
High Altitude Electric Heaters
I have never heard of altitude effecting the electric. Watts amps and volts are different than burning a gas, like propane. The high altitude has less oxygen thus requiring the combustion to be effected. If your wires are over heating when you use maximum wattage (amps) you need to install larger wire with the correct size breaker. Look up ohms law. Its a basic electrical formula and will help you get this right.
Dayton 3e219e
This is normal operation for this heater IF it does Not light. This has a photo 'eye' that looks for the flame and if it does not see the flame it will shut the unit down. It could be one of a few things. First.....Does the ignitor get hot and 'glow' cherry red? If not, either the ignitor is bad or the ignition board may be bad. You can check this by removing the top and watch it (the ignitor)while you plug it in, just be careful for the fan as it should start. If the ignitor glows then it is not the ignitor or the board. At this point you can make a sure bet it is in the air pump circuit. There are several filters in this unit. Very carefully take the four screws out of the back to remove the cover( it is a rectangle piece about 3 inches by five inches by 1.5 inches...about as this is off the top of my head) These are very fragile so be VERY carefull. There are three filters in this. One is removeable from the outside before anythis is disassembled. It is like a sponge and must be cleaned on a regular basis. Inside there is a cork like gasket TAKE CARE NOT TO BREAK IT. If you kreak it you must replace it. They do not work very well spliced together. Now that you are inside check the other two filters. One is very small like the size of a pencil eraser or smaller. Note where it came from so you can replace it afler you clean it. The other one is quite larger and is like a piece of filter paper. When it is new it is white. They clog up with the carbon from the air pump. You can carefully try and clean it but your best bet is to just replace it. Next clean and inspect the cover. They do crack on occasion and when they do it is LIGHTS OUT for the heater. Look Very close as it may be just a hairline crack, but that is all it takes to stop this from operating. Take the hose that leads to the nozzle off at the pump and blow a little air through it and make sure you are getting fuel spray out of the nozzle. Make sure the fuel line is clear and the filter, if it has one and it should, is clear as well. Reassemble and be carefull on torquing the screws on the cover. If you over tighten them SNAP the cover cracks and it's LIGHTS OUT again. The majority of these that I have worked on, about 98% the problem was either the inner filter and/or the cover was cracked. GOOD LUCK
I have a 240 volt
No, as long as the heater on the label says 240 volts. You would hook up your 240 v to black and white wire
Dayton 2yu62 doesn't work at all
Need to check heating elements and replace if necessary. If your checks are complete that is the answer I think.I suggest reviewing your findings. The heating elements rarely go bad.
Eb series electric heat/air cond./repair
I need more information to help you. When you say it "turns on" what does that mean? Only the fan works? If so does the compresser run? If not, the start relay could be the problem.

Horizontal electric hot water tank installtion
hello; no, unfortunately conventional elec. water heaters are only designed to operate in the upright position. one alternative is an electric tankless model. but beware there are a few things to explore about them before making the decision.
Dayton fuel trimmer 60000 btu. Everything lights and fan turns on but the flame isn't very big and the air isn't very hot. Warm maybe. What can I do to get more heat and a bigger flame?
I assume this is a typical heater, with an on/off thermostat rather than temperature-dependent flame size controller.
Make sure the burner is clean and the flame holes are not clogged. Also make sure the heat exchanger is clean, not loaded with ash or dust.
Verify that you have adequate air supply to the heater (if the flame gets much larger when you have doors open all the way to the outdoors, you definitely have a problem, including a safety issue) and that the exhaust stack is not blocked. I've seen issues caused by bird or wasp nests in the vent plumbing.
Check inlet gas pressure, and verify that the heater main gas valve is functioning. (If you have recently added another gas appliance, the piping may not permit adequate gas flow when both are running.) If you have your gas piped in from a utility company, you may have to ask them to verify adequate flow and pressure at the meter.
Check the inlet to the gas valve to make sure it is not clogged with sediment (requires shutting off gas and removing the inlet plumbing from the valve).
