You can buy a universal remote control through your local electronics supply. Sometimes it is also available on some hardware depot. Univ remote control have a manual where brand of tv is listed and its code. Thanks for using fixya.

I assume you are trying to change channels at the TV, and you don't get a signal on any channel except 2. My guess is you have the DTV converter box connected to the coax (tuner) input on the TV and the converter translates everything to TV channel 2. If this is correct, you select your channels using the converter box instead of the TV.

If this is not a correct interpretation of your situation, please post back with more details.

Auto presetting channels you wish to know I thinks, if so do the following.

To preset a channel or to change a preset channel, follow the procedure below.

1) Press the POWER button to turn on the TV.

2) Press the MENU button so that the menu display appears

on the TV screen.

3) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "CHANNEL SET".

Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.

4) Press the CH(annel) ? or ? button to point to "AUTO PRESET CH".

Then, press the VOL(ume) ? button.

The tuner scans and memorizes all active channels in your area.

? The TV distinguishes between standard TV channels and cable (CATV)

channels.

? When AUTO PRESET CH action is completed, the lowest memorized

channel reappears on the screen.

? When you press the CH(annel) ? or ? button after selecting "AUTO PRESET CH",

the tuner will stop at the memorized channels only.

? The TV may recognize TV channels to be CATV channels by receiving conditions. In this case,

try AUTO PRESET CH action again in the fine receiving conditions.

? When AUTO PRESET CH is activated where there is no TV signal input, "NO TV SIGNALS"
will appear on the display after the completion of channel scanning.

Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

The power source is forced to deliver more power than what it's rated for because the capacitors have aged and have started to lose their insulating properties so much that when heated by the normal functioning a lot of current is wasted thru them - they start to act like a short.
You must replace all of them ASAP or they will fail and the entire tv will be fried.

Your Emerson TVs audio format is not stereo; it is mono. Therefore only one audio input will be active. There is a Note give on your TVs manual. I copies it here for your information.

1. VIDEO (IN) jack- Connect to the video

output jack of a video camera or VCR.

2. AUDIO (INPUT) L/R jacks- Connect to

the left/right channel audio output jacks of

a video camera or VCR.

Note: The AUDIO (INPUT)L jack is for

mono input. The sound is heard from both

speakers. Use this jack for monaural audio
equipment to be hooked up.

i have had this problem varies times assuming there is a menu button on the tv you can switch back and forth through there my current tv lets me and its a 2000 model

Press the "menu" button on the front (near the middle of the panel) then look through the menu for the input or source or tv/av selection.
Select that option and then select which source you want to display. Done! :D

You can't. There is no option for changing the input in the Menu and no Input button on the TV.

However, you can get a substitute remote here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=EWF2002&uuid=12901104268770 . Alternatively, get a universal remote that matches the feature (probably not the cheapest ones) and try several codes until you find one that makes the feature work. (Sometimes a code that works for on/off doesn't do the rest of the features). Another option would be a programmable remote - the type that are programmed via a USB connection to a computer.

Tries pushes the channel up button few times,will get u into the video modes 1 or 2 in most of 90 to 202 CRT(tubue tvs).Or try website like Remotes.com to buy an original remote.

Not sure about this particular TV, but usually, you select inputs by channel selector. Go to Channel 1 on TV not Cable or dish, Use the channel selector button on the set itself, go down from 1. You should see somthing like Aux or Line, then aux 2 or Line 2 etc.. eventually (3 clicks or so) rolling around to ch 115. But usually between the highest ch on the set and ch 1 are the auxillary input selections.

They should be able to sell you a replacement, alternatively you could buy a universal remote instead. It will probably be cheaper but make sure the remote comes with codes for Emerson TVs!

I'm trying to find a third-party supplier for the remote but it would help me if I knew your location. I will post another message if I can find a replacement.
