This is maybe due to a faulty main board or cable box. If you are on a cable try unpluging it from the AC outlet and waiting 2 mins, this will cause the cable box to reboot. If this does not work then you might have main system board that needs replacing.

hello!the problem is not on the power cord it is on the backlight of your tv (a cold cathode lamp)this needs to be replace you can reach the cathode lamp by disassembling the screen/monitor of your tv the lamp is place at the top and bottom of the screen be very careful when doing this.replacement is available online at shopjimmy.com.

sometimes the problem is on the inverterboard the inverterboard is the one supplying a current to the lamp the input voltage of the inverterboard is 24v so you have to check the input voltage from the power supply to the inverter board.a poor solder from the terminal post of the power supply to the inverterboard will also cause the problem.so resolder them.reminder..always unplug the tv before working on it..goodluck!A four thumbs up is much appreciated for answering your free question..

1. This sound like the Video inverter is gone or the ( for the layman) the light tube. This needs replacement.
This is common on most LCD screens . the inverter is connected to a luminous tube ( high luminous florescent tube) which excites the LCD crystal which give you visual at a very fast scan rate. The inverters can go due to not enough heat dissipation in the cabinet. The LCD TV generates quite a bit of heat in the slim cabinets.
Sometime the voltage and current generated from the power supply to the inverter will degrade due to a faulty component.

Sometimes universal remotes can not be programmed for all makes/models of TV's and the best thing to do is to use the original remote.

change it to VGA and put the audio in the mic jack on the laptop and in the audio in jack on the tv.

I had to purchase a new adapter from radio shack.

The TV might need a soft reset which is unplugging the power cord for 60 seconds and plug back. Try that, Or the worse case is that the MAIN BOARD inside the set needs replacing which I just did an online search and found none available.

our MacBook may or may not have a DVI/VGA output socket and only USB-C, if modern. Does your monitor have similar input sockets, if not, it won't work.

Question edited for clarity. It is unusual to have nothing which leads me to believe the power board has failed. Try a power reset, remove the wall plug for 5 minutes. Plug back in, press and hold the power button on the set, for 12 seconds. If that doesn't fix it, take it in for repair. This is a high specs, low budget make, NZ$928.00 new. The model is only available in New Zealand. We are in North America. I would check the batteries position in the remote. Usually one points up, the other points down. If both are placed in the same direction, they cancel each other out. That could drain the batteries too. If Up/Down doesn't work, try Down/Up. Good Luck.

Hi, please ensure that your mute and volume down buttons are not currently stuck on your remote. Then, you can restart the tv and check for sound again. Please check multiple channels. If it's not working, please use the volume keys on your tv to help get the sound back. If this fails, please remove all the tv accessories and check for sound Again.
