Hello, most likely based on the symptoms you will need ether of two things, one the T-CON board which is the timing control for the unit, or the main board. You can find parts at [email protected] which I would recommend to email them first as you can request a call back from a Westinghouse technician so you can be sure that is what you need, and another place you can purchase parts from is www.shopjimmy.com.

Depending on the model you have you might need ether the inverter board or you might actually need the power board. You are likely to find both these parts at www.shopjimmy.com or by emailing [email protected], you should always have a certified technician fix your TV but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to change ether of these boards.

i know some one had a broken lcd on a sharp aquos and it would have cost more to fix than to buy new

If the screen is cracked, it will be more than what the TV is worth. If no light/picture on the screen but still have sound, then the backlight inverter board may have gone out or it is not getting the power from the main power supply module.

this is due to (i suspect)the tiny halogen lights that sit on top and botton inside the screen i know that because i have a computer monitor with the same problem it is really easy to desemble the whole electronic, the real problem is how do i get those lights!

Buy a digital antena or have roof antena,get better receptions and stable Hz.Rescan when get better signal should get it back an it stable's.
