you box is set to a different HD level..meaning your tv maybe 1080i and the box is set to 1080p and your tv won't work on that setting. go into the settings menus and reset it to factory default.Then set it up from sctatch. Of the problem persists you will know that it is a hardware issue in which case a technician can look at it.

If you can get settings menus up reset the tv to factory default. Should it start working autotune it. Ensure it is set to digital output if it is analog/digital.
