Running Windows 7 and can't

Unfortunately Photosuite 7 is not compatible with Windows 7. It was supported for Windows 2000 and XP.

You can upgrade to the latest Roxio product, http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/allproducts.html?rTrack=m_pro_all . I think you need the Creator 2011. (Creator 2010 is also WIndows 7 compatible with the installation of a patch from Roxio.)

If you have Windows7 32-bit (click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System for the details), you can try using the compatibility mode. Right click on the installer and select Properties. Then choose the Compatibility Tab. Select Run as Compatible with XP (I am not certain which SP option is best - I know the initial release is listed as SP1). Then right click again on the installer and choose Run as Administrator. Then check if the program is running in the compatibility mode. This may not work (it will not work with the 64-bit version at all).

If you have the 64-bit version of the OS or if the compatibility mode fails, you need a work-around. Your option is to run a computer with an older version of Windows. This can be a virtual, dual-boot, or true second machine. If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate, you can create a virtual XP computer for free. Download and install Virtual PC and XP mode from Microsoft. Install them in order. Then install your Photosuite Platinum software in the XP mode (as you would if it were a stand-alone machine). It will work. (Other virtual computer programs are Parallels and VMWare.) All of the other options will require a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Please note that the virtual computer can't share files directly with the main computer. You'll need to save files to external or removable media (optical media or flash drive, for example) to share them. Also your printer can not be installed on both the real and virtual machines at the same time.

I hope this helps.

Is there a patch available

Hello henn..... What you are seeking is a driver. Go to the Roxio website where you will see a link to their free downloadable drivers. Select the driver for photosuite 7 and windows 7. Download it and then run it. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

Windows 7 not compatable with photosuite 7platinum

Hi Carol,

I'm going to have to assume you have the standalone version of Photosuite, and not the version that comes with Easy Media Creator 7.

I don't know for sure if this will solve your problem, but try downloading this update:

http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/photosuite/software_updates.html

As a side note, if this doesn't solve your problem, could you elaborate on what you mean by Windows 7 isn't compatible? As in what happens when you try to run it?

Feel free to leave a comment if you have any further questions.

Good Luck :)

Roxio creater starter 12.1.0.439

If you are experiencing the certificate file message or missing tabs in your Roxio software, please perform a manual update of your anti-virus or security software and reinstall the Roxio Creator Starter. You can perform a manual update by launching your anti-virus or security software and using the Update option. Prior to reinstalling, it is strongly advised that you temporarily disable your anti-virus and security software and any unnecessary background processes to ensure a smooth install.

I was able to install the Roxio EAsy VHS to DVD3 Plus, but I get this message: Roxio Easy VHS to DVD has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution to the problem. Thanks, Jeff

Most likely a driver issue. Check the website for the VHS to DVD software for the compatible software/driver for your OS.
