I want to restore my

Check to see if there is a recovery partition on your hard drive. Usually this will be hidden unless you know where to look for it. Here are the steps:
  1. Go to Start Panel
  2. Right-Click my computer
  3. Click manage
  4. This will open a seperate window with the title computer management on top of it
  5. In the left pane you want to look under storage and select DIsk Management
  6. This will give you a snapshot of your hard drive, if your hard drive is split into more than one partition and that partition is at the least 5-8 Gb, chances are you have a recovery partition. Run this check then let me know what you find
If you do have one, then let me know and I will walk you thru the process of booting from this partition

Hello,It might be that the sound card driver is outdated. I suggest that you scan your computer with RadarSync so that you will know which driver/s need some updating. You can use the same software to update the drivers.David

From where i can download HP Restore plus cd for dx2200

The restore plus cd only formats the drive and makes a partition, it does not load the OS or repair it.The set up disk will do the same thing when you reinstall the OS, you can format and make a extra partition if you want, but the OS auto makes a small partition for the booting record. If you have a problem you need the set up disk or to use the HP backup and recovery manger.

Cant find Windows Installer and my XP restore plus will not open

My suggestion would be to go into BIOS Setup, and in Boot Options; change the first boot device to CDROM.Computer off. (Press the Power On button in for a count of 10 seconds, or until computer turns off)AS SOON AS you press the Power On button, start tapping on the F10 key.Tap in 2 second intervals. If you hear beeps ignore them. They are Stuck Key Error Code beeps, and it is You that is doing it. (It's OK)Takes a few seconds, then you should be looking at the Main menu, in BIOS Setup,System InformationStandard CMOS SetupAdvanced BIOS FeaturesAdvanced Chipset FeaturesIntegrated PeripheralsPower Management SetupPnP/PCI ConfigurationPC Health StatusLoad Optimized DefaultsSupervisor PasswordSet User PasswordSave and Exit SetupExit Without SavingYou CANNOT use your mouse anymore. You need to use the Keyboard.Use the Down Arrow key, and highlight Advanced BIOS Features.Press the Enter key.First Boot DeviceSecond Boot DeviceThird Boot DeviceFourth Boot DeviceYou want CDROM as the First Boot Device. This FORCES the computer to boot off of a disk in the optical drive.(CD/DVD drive)So you will want Optical Drive as the first boot device.BIOS Setup changes. There are different versions. The manual is unclear, of how to move Optical Drive to the top of the list, or also can be said as move to First Boot Device.Let's see if this method is used;Use the Down Arrow key, and highlight -> First Boot DeviceNow press the Enter key.Use the Down Arrow to highlight Optical Drive.Press the Enter key.Now look at the navigation guide at the bottom. (Does NOT state navigation guide)Use the appropriate keys to Change Value. It should either be the + / - keys, or the Page Up/Page Down keys.(If you can, I would use the Minus { - } key, and not use the Plus{ + } key )Tap the key until Optical Drive is at the top of the list, or across from First Boot Device.Press the Enter key.Now use the Up or Down Arrow key to highlight -> Save and Exit, and press the Enter key.Don't have your Restoration Disk in the optical drive? That's OK. Open the drive, put it in.Now press the CTRL, ALT, and DELete keys AT THE SAME TIME.This will restart the computer. For additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvetteHP Support > Service Reference Guide > HP Compaq DX2200 MT Desktop PC,http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00631987/c00631987.pdf

I bought a video card

When the card is disconnected automatically switches to on-board video which shares 128 MB of the physical memory. 1GB = 1024MB. 1024MB -128MB= 896MB. It's actually performing exactly as designed (except for the part where you say "the picture is not correct"). Are the fonts and icons too large? If they are, then you just have to install (or re-install, if ever) the drivers and software for the video card. The video card would have most likely come in with an installation disc. Just pop it in your computer's CD or DVD drive and its autoplay function should come up automatically. THe autoplay function would provide you options for installing the drivers and applications or UNinstalling, if it's already installed. So if it's already installed, allow the program to uninstall it first, restart the computer, if necessary, then reinstall it after it turns back on. Depending on how old the drivers are on the disc, Windows may eventually prompt you to update it. Just say yes when it does. In the event that the drivers will not install or if there are on-screen artifacts that would not go away (especially ones that appear the moment you turn the machine on), there could be something physically wrong with the device and it may need tobe repaired or replaced
