First, begin by unplugging the dryer and verifying the voltage at the wall receptacle. You should read 220-240VAC across the two Hot terminals (left and right slots). If the voltage is incorrect, check to make sure you don't have a breaker tripped. Some homes use 2 separate 120VAC breakers to provide power to the receptacle vice using one 240VAC breaker.

If the voltage IS correct, leave the dryer unplugged and remove the cover plate on the terminal block in the back of the dryer (this is where the power cord is installed). Plug the dryer back in and take a voltage reading across the two hot (RED and BLACK) wires at the terminal block. You should read 220-240VAC. If the voltage is good, you have an internal heating problem. If the voltage is bad at the terminal block, but good at the receptacle, you have a bad power cord.

The reason a dryer will still run if the input voltage is incorrect, is because the drive motor only uses a portion of the 220 service. The motor runs off 110-120VAC, while the heating circuits require 220-240VAC. So, if you are missing 1/2 your input voltage due to a tripped breaker or bad power cord, your dryer will exhibit these symptoms.

If you determine the problem to be internal, the heating circuits will either be located in the rear of the washer on the right hand, or under the dryer drum on the right hand side. Usually, an easy way to determine is by the location of the lint screen filter. If the filter is on top of the dryer, the heating circuits are in the back of the dryer. If the lint screen is in the door, the heating circuits are located under the dryer drum.

All dryers are not constructed the same. Regardles of location, the Heating Element is located inside the heater box. The Thermal Cut-Out (TCO) will be located on the outside of the heater box on the end opposite the heating element terminals. The Hi-Limit Thermostat will be located adjacent to the heating element terminals. If either the TCO or Hi-Limit Thermostat are determined to be bad, replace both components at the same time. That is why these components are commonly sold as a set. Failure to do so may result in premature failure of any parts you replace. NOTE: If the thermal fuse was blown, the dryer normally will not run at all. Don't become confused with the Thermal Fuse and the Thermal Cut-Out (TCO).

The vents are most likely stoped up . All the lint & anything around the fan all the way to the outside vent needs cleaned . I have found a lot of things in front of the fan nails coins & whatever that were in clothes pockets sometimes the lint or other things won't let the fan turn & the breaker or thermal fuse to blow. Hope this helps

I found a work around that works for me. Press and hold wich cycle you would like, while still holding the button down choose which options you want such as time or heat ect. While still holding the button down press srart.

Remove the back panel. Check the thermal cutoff it is on the top heating element cover. You can check it with an ohm meter. If it is bad replace it 309 degrees and the hi-limit thermostat (250 degrees) you can get a kit that has both in it. If the hi limit is bad it will blow the cutoff. If it starts after replacing them check all thermostats & remove the blower cover and clean any lint or junk from around the fan. Check the fan it may be broken or stripped Clean any lint you see anywhere lint or junk will not let the heat get out the vent.You may find pencils nails or anything keeping the blower from turning.Be absolutley sure the vent is clean all the way out of the house. Heating Element

It is possible that your dryer isn't heating because its heating element is defective. Heating elements are irrepairable. If yours has ceased to function properly, you will have to replace it. Open your dryer's cabinet and locate the heating element so that you can test it.

Thermal Fuse

Another possible cause for a dryer not heating up could be attributed to a faulty thermal fuse. Once a dryer's thermal fuse has blown, it is no longer of any use. If your dryer's fuse is blown, you will have to replace it. Open up your dryer's cabinet and locate its thermal fuse so that you can test it.

Thermostat

Their is a connection that might be off and the only way to see it is to tilt it over

Agree with you. Make sure the lint collector is clean and ditto for the vent. If it goes up to roof have to check it there also to make sure there are no obstructions whatsoever in vent line. Unit is turning off because it is overheating. If lint collector and vent is squeaky clean and unit blows out like crazy then the temp switch is opening up prematurely and might need replacement or jumping - your call. Check the vent for clogging condition that will turn off unit and cause it to overheat. If vent goes up to roof check up there also - that is where mine was clogged with a sort of paper mache clog!!!!!

YEAH... 2 choices... clean the vent tube or disconnect the vent tube and open all the doors & windows Carnac the Magnificent

Could you please explain the problem in depth for me? Not sure what you mean by the control panel not working. Is it getting power? Do you have lights on inside the dryer (if it is equipped with it)?

Is this dryer Electric or Gas?

It unscrews. With that being said most times it is on so tightly that you have to break it off. Squeak noise is most likely the rollers or the idler arm.

First check beaker flip it off than back on next check the door switch if tab missing or loose it should spring back when pressed next the dryer may have over heated the thermal fuse may have blown
