I have a Dell Inspiron E1705. I need to connect it to my 20

On my laptop it is f4 key and it controls the windows operating system screen mode so windows has to be running . Also suggest you turn off the p.c and plug in the tv cable to the svideo and then go to the tv and change the input source to the cable input. Then turn on the computer and hopefully it might detect the cable is active and switch to it automatically. Sarah if you provide us (being all of fixya) with the make of tv and model number as well as the make and model number of the computer we may be able to figure it out in a more detailed analysis of your predicament.

Laptop bios password

I am assuming you can't get into the BIOS settings to change it?Download the latest Hiren's Boot CD and install onto a CD. There is a section for removing bios password. If you do not have a CD player on your laptop, install the Boot CD onto a usb using Microsoft's Windows 7 USB installer. Helpful link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I--XPybWlig

P C only works in safe mode, can't download files

Run Microsoft Memory Diagnostic, and follow up with an overnight of memtestx86+ There is always the possibility that it was a bad BIOS Update (something that should not be done unless to get rid of a particular compatibility issue to begin with), but if it passes POST then it is likely fine. You may want to reset the UEFI/BIOS, and load defaults to ensure system stability. Just a word of note; Recently I just had a real pain of a repair job. Everything passed all tests, but I was still having random crashes. Turned out that the controller on the SSD was having issues, so the SSD needed to be replaced. But the device had passed 5 different benchmarking suites which tested different aspects of the drive, and the only way I found what was wrong was by replacing 1 part at a time.

How to reset a password on a dell latitude e1705 laptop

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/ http://67.20.82.163/

Dell e7105 not charging

POWER SUPPLY & BATTERY PROBLEMIf thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED lightup? If not then -The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty.Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's powersocket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position thisLED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a drysolder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.

Wifi problems with Dell Inspiron E1705

LOL, sounds like you didn't hit the correct key or keystrokes.First of all look in front and on the sides for the Wireless Switch and make sure it is turned on. Then once it is on you can toggle the wireless on or off by Keystrokes. Press and Hold the FN key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the corresponding F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the icon of the wireless signal )))) or it will have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal )))). Normally when the correct keystrokes is hit the screen will display Wireless On or Wireless Off.
