Weber performer igniter not working

Replace it or use a fireplace lighter. Mine stopped working, too. I think the original igniters are cra**y. You may want to shop around for an after market replacement.

How to clean weber performer ignitor or gas nozzel

If you can light it with a match or lighter, the gas nozzle is working fine. You may have to replace your igniter. My Performer has the same problem, so I suspect the original igniter is a piece of cr*p. You may want to look into an aftermarket replacement. Of just use a fireplace lighter like I do.

What should I do when the ignitor of my weber performer does not work?

Replace the battery (if it has one). If all you do is hold down the button and it starts to click then you have a battery ignitor.

My igniter doesn't work becasue the wires are not attached - is there a diagram?

if you have more than one wire you probably have more than one igniter. Usually the igniter is attached to the frame (so it's grounded like a spark plug on a car). the other end of the wire attaches to the sparking fixture, which is located alongside one of the jets of the burner, There should be a connecter on the end of the wire. This slips onto the unit that sparks, usually on the bottom. They don't give you much extra wire, so stretch it out under the grill and the "sparker" will be within reach of the end of the wire.

Mike, it may be a bad regulator, but is may also be correctable without buy any parts. To solve the problem do the following:

To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Gas Is On, Press Ignitor and charcoal doesn't

Make sure the ignitor is sparking. sometimes they fail or spark in the wrong place. If no gas is flowing, try shutting off the tank and waiting about 15 seconds, then open the tank back up. Some models have a flow restrictor that shuts off the gas, you will hear a slight ping or click as this resets.

If your getting gas at the regulator, then I would look for an obstruction in the burner(s). If a gas grill is not used for a while spiders will make webs inside the tubes. You can blow them out with compressed air or wash them in hot water. If you do wash them, they will have to dry out before they will light.

I purchased a Weber Performer

You have done everything there is to be done. Both in troubleshooting and trying to solve it, without success. Your next step is to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly, as the regulator is permanently locked up. It's still under warranty, so you can either get one from Weber (with your Proof of Purchase) or buy one (about $30.00) at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. If you go the latter route, take your old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you.
