Don't even try this at home. Before you should think of replacing a screen, just ask what a replacement screen will cost. If you even can buy one. If you can buy a screen, it could cost up to 10 times as much as a new tv from the same size.
If you still want to replace it, please look on ifixit.com. there they have tutorials about almost every repair you can think of.

Go and look on ifixit.com. There you find tutorials about how to fix almost anything. Then try to buy a new screen and look what it will cost. If you can buy one, it could cost lots and lots more than a complete new TV the same size or bigger. And then you still have to do the repair. and have an old TV.

Watch the red light and or power light when this happens, if there is a specific number of blinks and then a pause that is a error code.

I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:

ISSUES:

1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.
2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.
3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.
4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.

Answers to issues:

1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.

2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not.

Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom.

What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.

3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.

4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.5_25_2012_10_16_37_pm.jpg5_25_2012_10_17_04_pm.jpg

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

Hi Sherry, you can test your remote control to see if all the keys work correctly
Take your cell phone, put in camera mode and point the emitting LED of the remote control towards the camera,
press the keys, one at a time and see if the emitting LED is illuminated, if so, try the volume up key, if the light does not turn on, you could carefully disassemble the remote control and clean the contacts and the keyboard internally rubber,
Do not use alcohol to clean
the rubber keyboard, you can clean it with warm water and detergent then let it dry very well,
the contact plate, you can use a cloth with some liquid to clean the glass,
the idea is to remove the rubber residue on the contacts
then arm again and test, but you have results consult a specialized technical service
I hope you find the suggestion useful
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

Aron,

To perform a reset you will need to disconnect the TV completely from power for at least 30 seconds, if this doesn't resolve your problem then you may have hardware that has expired in your device. Without physically looking at your device I can't say with certainty what your problem is, it could be your PCB. There are video's online you can visit on how to test a PCB for faults.
If you are not comfortable troubleshooting your device I would suggest contacting a local electronic repair shop near you, however I will link you to a generic instructional video showing you how to perform basic troubleshooting of your device.

Hope this helps,
Best regards

Although I am just guessing, most Sony equipment uses metric screws. Go to a Home Depot or similar store and take the piece that you have that contains the threaded fittings and they will help you find the screws you need. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/793567/Sony-Kdl-32xbr6.html?page=7#manual This page of the manual gives some info about the screws such as not longer than 1/2" (or 12mm) to prevent damage to the set. Sony customer service may be able to supply replacement screws too.
