Thanks for using FixYa. It seems to be an issue with a bad inverter board and/or it is not getting power supply, dont think HDMI inputs can cause this issue. To check what has gone bad you’ll have to open the back of the unit and check the backlight inverter board. The inverter is the power supply source for the backlights. If that’s the issue then it’s always better to replace the inverter board completely just to avoid any future issues. Please check this picture on how it looks:

If not then check the power supply board however, it seems to be the inverter board as the sound was still working fine. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

It sounds like the T-CON board problem, you can try reseating the connector first, the board is mounted under the metal shield which sometime can be difficult to get to.

Have you connected it Via HDMI? if the screen is still connected via Scart then that is the problem.

your lcd ip board (power board) capacitor had already exhusted. got to replace either the board or capacitor.

that is your ballast pwr supply need to be fix
?some capacitor and regulator are defect

There are two possible causes. 1. The Function Buttons on the TV are shorted thus not allowing commands to be sent to the Main bd. Replaced the Function Button PCB.
2. The Main bd is bad.

check power supply capacitors..i repair these every day and the power supply is prone to faulty capacitors..the capacitors should have flat tops and if they are bulging or leaking brown fluid, replace

Check the color settings in the menu. It has white balance and color correction that can be adjusted by hand. If you don't know how to adjust the color balance, just reset the color settings or choose a preset color selection (Dynamic, Movie or Normal).

with tv in standby press info then menu then mute then power.this brings up service menu.goto item 12 reset.then let it retune itself.

IF IT'S NOT THE REMOTE CONTROL, THEN THE IR SENSOR IS GOING BAD

It sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM811, CM812, CM817 & CS806; 1000ufd 25volts.

second hand stores and recyclers would be a good start, other than that try the manufacturer.

If i remember correctly there is a setting in the PS3 to switch it to HDMI, plug it back in via Scart or howeve you had it connected and look in system settings then video output and set it to HDMI this i s defo a setting in ther PS3 as i have had it but sold mine now and cant check exactly where the setting is, just have a good look around you will find it.

This Squeal is the color wheel its going out or has gone bad you need to replace the color wheel to get this TV back in order. If you do not have the expertise to do this take it ot the shop and pay them to have it done otherwise you can order it on line www.partstore.com should have your replacement color wheel.

I would turn this TV OFF and not plug it back in to avoid damage to the unit take it into the shop and get a invoice of repairs means they check it over and give you a ESTIMATE its free to get this done then you decide weather it worth the repair from there.

Try a new HDMI - I had a cheapo from walmart and I tried a Monster HDMI and it worked beautifully

your timing control and color circuits need some adjusting. This can be software based or hardware based.... either way a tech needs to service this problem....


if its under warranty take it back if not get it serviced before it becomes a bigger more expensive problem....

There is nothing you can do about this.It's a fault wich i have seen many times and is not repairable.If the set is within warranty you can ask to replace the LCD panel.

Hi, There have been several problems lately with the screens doing that. The only way is replacing the screen. I have located the problem causing it, It is the light filters in the panel,not replaceable at this time."pain in *** too"Did it from a broken panel. The light filters diffuse the light evenly so you do not notice the backlights. If you bend it,it will cause shadows like your getting. They heat up and swell a bit. And that is what is causing it. I have contacted Samsung,And Magnavox about the problem. Will not sell replacement light filter at this time tho.The LED backlit will not do this. They run cool.
