Could be that your batteries do not have enough mAH? They should be at least 2600mAH. Any thing less than that tends to not have enough power to keep your camera on. I've used rechargeable batteries in the range of 1200mAH and they would not keep the camera on for more than a few seconds.
Try a hard reset by holding the power button down and removing the batteries at the same time, still holding the power button down go back and insert the batteries, it should reset it self in most cases? Another possible problem your camera might have is a stuck barrel lens, if it was dropped or has some sand in the lens gears, that could also make it shut down immediately.
How do I unlock the memory card
If you mean the memory card itself, then hold the card facing you and push the small grey plastic button on the left hand side of the card to the up position, that should unlock the memory card. It is not really a button but more like a slide type of button.
My camera has new batteries but when pressing the power button I get beeping sounds and the lcd screen is black. Whats wrong?
Your camera will work with AA batteries.
Always be sure the batteries are charged.
Insert the batteries correct plus to plus and minus to minus. Only one battery the wrong way around and the camera won't work.
Check contacts of the batteries and in the battery compartment of your camera. Dirty or oxidised contacts can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Never use sharp tools to clean contacts or anything in or on your camera.
Always charge the batteries before using it for the first time, or if you have not used it for a long period. 3 months is a very long period.
Also check if the battery door is closed correct. Most cameras do have a switch connected to the battery door. If the switch does not work correct, it could be you can't switch on your camera.
Do not use alkaline batteries unless it is absolutely necessary. In most cases, alkaline batteries have a shorter service life than NiMH. Alkaline battery performance is limited, especially at low temperatures. The use of NiMH batteries is recommended.
Never use manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries in your camera. They can't deliver enough power and can start leaking, causing damage to your camera.

How do i restart canon power shot a2000
The only thing you can do to restart a camera, is remove the battery and eventually, when it is out, you can recharge it. When you replace the battery, the internal program will start from scratch.
There is no such thing as a reset button. It is not a PC. Most camera's allow you to set back the settings you made till a certain grade. things like the language and time and date will always stay in the memory as it is.

@ alan o'brien, Samsung D53 digimax draws a lot of current from the battery thus, you need to replace your batteries with a HIGHER current ratings, sufficient enough to run the motor. This miniature motor inside the D53 camera drives the reduction gears functions, to extend and retract the mechanical lens. During this processes it is drawing a lot of current from the battery. In order to conserve and prolong battery power avoid zooming in and out, utilize the function speed 50-400 and manually adjust aperture to minimize the unnecessary use of flash. In other words, go manual mode. Here's the battery specs. 2800ma NiMH rechargeable battery. Refer and follow manufacturers recharging instructions for best result. Do not leave batteries inside the camera even when not in use because the circuit inside is still on the standby mode and not necessarily off. Hope i have satisfy your curiosity. If you can, kindly share with me some of your best photo taken from your D53 digimax. Thank you.
