enter 'Z640' and do a search.
Download the device-driver software.
Install it.

yes you will need the black to print in full then make a cleaning and then a test page then it should work

Go to lexmark's website and download the drivers directly. If you cannot do that, use someone else's compute and download them to a thumb drive and then transfer the drivers to your pc.

if it is windows, go to the control panel, then printers and fax icon, right click your printer then select properties. this is where it will be up to you to look around for things like printing test page, which will allow you to adjust the allignment, and maintaince, this is different for different operating systems and printers, so hope i atleast gave you some help.

Select the matching download for your Operating System: select the correct Download Now on the right, under Learn More.
When the download is blocked and a warning message shows up under the menu bars, then click this message and permit the download.

Best would be to save the execute file first to a folder, "Download_printer Z640" for example, and run (=dounle click) the driver install file later.

Do not connect the printer until installation is ready, or when a message shows up to power up and connect the device to the computer.

When needing more help, just tell at what point the installation fails in this answer.

Right if not been used for months then yes the ink heads needs a good clean as they will be dry and blocked, and you may need to buy new inks.

Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Just remove the printer driver off the PC closedown and restart again and then reinstoll it back it my do the trick.

I'm sorry but, unfortunately, there are no available Lexmark Z640 printer drivers for Macintosh operating system. The printer is only compatible with Microsoft(Windows). I hope I can assist more on this.

Hello. Since, you have already used a wet tissue to clean the nozzles, how about reseating the cartridges. Remove both cartridges from the printer. Unplug the printer from the power source. Plug the power back in after 10-15 seconds. Re-insert the cartridges. If it still won't work, cartridges may have worn out already because of non-usage. Maybe it's time to buy new ones now. Hope I could help you more on this.

Had de same prob nd it was that i hadnt selected the right cartridge type when installing the printer. You must select colour if der colour one in nd vice versa r else it will print but nothin wil come out on page. May be de problem........

Click start and select search, then type the name Lexmark Z640.
Your computer will search and locate it for you if you haven't deleted it.
