you will need to go to lexmark website and download the driver that is compatible with your laptops version of windows (if your laptop is running windows 7 they may not have a driver for it yet)

Generally the cause of your problem is a blockage within the cartridge. Get a new cartridge and your problem will be solved.

Check you Device Manager and see if you see anything yellow ie ? question mark or ! exclamation. That will tell you if you need to download drivers.
(if it has, you need to download the drivers.)

FRom Control panel->Add Remove programs delete the printer after disconnecting it from the PC. Now reboot the PC and install the drivers again. Reboot again and then connect the printer and allow windows to detect the printer and load its drivers. It will give you a message in the right bottom corner of the screen saying "The new HW has been installed and is working". Now run the word processor and from FIle->print select this printer as the default printer.
Now it will wor properly.

The 600 series takes a separate power supply that plugs into the back of the printer.

Go to start menu, open printer and faxes option. Right click your printer icon and open properties. Click on the port tab and verify that Enable bidirectional support is selected. If not click on it to check it. Click on OK and it shd work..

Your cd that came with the printer may be only for Windows XP.
Download the driver from the link below and it should work for VISTA.
