Just talking from my experience, I have noticed that some boards have problems with USB ports that are connected via a cable (yours is, I presume). Like the P5GC-MX I have in my CCTV server, the front ports only allow Flashdrives and low voltage devices but it doesn't accept USB Harddisks (those using laptop harddrives).

Can you attach flashdrives or is it really dead?

How about your pin connections? was it connected properly using the cable to the board?

What type of casing are you using? I noticed some cheap casings (those especially that don't use FoxConn, have problems with their front USB ports)

Get undelete software like Norton this will do it for you

I would unplug the video cable from the computer to the monitor. turn the monitor on and see if you get a message on the display stating video loss or something like that. this will determine if the problem is with the display or the video card in the computer. If you get the video loss message, then the display is good and the problem is with the video card / VGA port on the motherboard or the computer is not fully booting up.

Sounds like an overheating issue. Try letting your computer cool down for a few hours and try again, if it continues you may need a new CPU

you need to provide the operating system when asking for software / firmware.....Link to HPs driver site for your model (there are 2 types of d530's) and you will have to pick both the Form Factor yours is, and the Operating system you need the drivers for.Tallon41

In installing anew hard drive to your computer , you can just simply plug it there after you remove the old hard drive is you will be replacing the old one.
