Hunter Fan Co. 60 In.Brushed Nickel Stonebridge Remote Control Ceiling Fan - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Hunter ceiling fan. Lights and fans turn on and
I just installed a 2nd hunter fan model 23811 that also seems to be controlled by grimlins. If the power is left on, the light and fan randomly turn on and off. And no, it is not due to fans being on the same frequency. It appears to be an issue with the control module. I'm contacting Hunter.
I am trying to move
If you look at the piece that nudges up to the ceiling, there should be some screws somewhere near the very top, right by the ceiling. If they are there, unscrew them and you should be able to figure out how to twist it to remove it. If the screws are not there, try twisting the piece at the ceiling counterclockwise, sometimes its got some catches and you just turn it to kind of set it in place. If this is the case, you should be able to just twist it and it should drop. Either way (by the way, those are the only 2 ways it is possibly held on), once that part is done, you simply lift up on the fan to remove it from the ceiling bracket, unscrew the wirenuts (WITH THE POWER OFF), and remove the ceiling bracket. Then all you do is reverse the process for where you want to put it up. The wires are color coded-black from the ceiling to blue or red on the fan. White from ceiling to white on fan. And the green to the green. Good luck.
We heard a loud pop & now the lights won't
Best to look for a wire that shorted out ( made the popping noise) and repair it.
Turn the power off and disessable the fixture carefully looking for a wire that the insulation ha worn through or that has broken or come free. You'll also probably find a nice burn mark.
Check the breaker that the light is on also ... it may be tripped
My Hunter 60" fan and
Inside the light/fan assembly is a controller for the remote functions. It is a small plastic box and these controller are known to fail, and when they do, the fan will not operate. It is possible for the motor to be bad, but this is a rare thing to happen. Replace the controller.
Pull cord for fan came out
chances are you will have to go to an electrical supply store and replace the pull switch for the hunter fan make sure they know what model it is...
Wacky remotes
change the frequency on both so they are not the same they have to be changed in the fan transmitter and receiver
Ceiling fan with mind of its own
Sounds like you're getting interferrence with the wireless control module. You can remove the shroud at the fan and try another setting on the remote control module. Just be sure to set the wireless hand-held control to the same settings in order for it to operate properly.
Please refer to your owners manual for the fan and the wireless controller for any questions on how to set them to work together. You may have to try a couple of different settings until you get one that isn't
affected by the interferrence it is presently receiving from another ireless source.
Those sources could be a garage door opener, wireless doorbell, TV or other remote control. Cell phones, walkie talkies, and so on. Almost anything that produces a radio signal, could be the cause of the problem.
Hope you found this very helpful and best regards!
Flickering lights
make sure you have the remotes/receivers set to different jumpers. I installed 2 fans and had the same problem, just had to change the jumpers on one of the fans and the corresponding remote
The fan runs but lights won't come on anymore when
I'm betting the circuit board has gone defective. After shutting off power to unit, disassemble and have a look at it. Bad solder joints and discolored from heat areas may lead to a repair. Otherwise, this site has Hunter fan parts.

I have a hunter fan remote that is not working
Yes I have done that before.you open the battery compartment and you will see 4 jumpers.Look on the on you want to replace, then change the ones on the new one.Write down the jumper locations before moving them so you can have them for the other fan.
Remote controlled ceiling fan has mind of it's own.
I have the same fan. The fan and the remote have some "jumpers" which allow you to change the codes, useful if someone else nearby has the same fan. You can see the jumpers inside the remote, open the back cover... you'll see "4 3 2 1" on the circuit board. Unfortunately you'll need to dismount the fan to change its jumpers, they need to be the same as the jumpers in your remote (which you can move around pretty easily).
