Hello. grinder won't grind
HI
Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit. This will be above where the brew unit was. From the left side of the drop chute pull down and back, and it will drop coffee. This will clear an opening that relieves pressure on the passage. There is a passage inside the drop chute area that goes to the grinder. Vacuum it out. It will be on the right side of the drop chute.
Once that is cleared go to the bean hopper. There are 2 knobs in the bean hopper. Turn the large knob to the largest number. You can turn the knob to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to turn to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can turn the knob back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running.
Which setting gives a stronger
Hi
On this machine you want the lever under the grinder on 4 and the lever in the middle of the door towards the + (plus) but not all the way. Back 1 mark is the strongest setting you should use. It puts more coffee in the brew unit, there for stronger. If push all the way you will get an over charge on some shots and you could also break the brew drive. The grinder lever can be moved to 3 but only when the grinder is running. This makes the grind finer (smaller #'s). Get it too fine and you will plug up the brew unit.
Why does it now stop at prebrewing and not give me
Hi
Try reprogramming the machine. Push and hold the button for the coffee you want, but hold it all the way through the process. Don't release the button until you get the amount of coffee you want for that button, then release the button. That should get you the same amount next time. You can do this for each coffee button. If that didn't fix it you might have a bad flow meter
I get lots of watered
HI
When you run a lot of water through just a little coffee it gets water down. Try making 2 meduim cups instead. When they make espresso its 1 tablespoon to 1 oz of water. Your running 6 oz of water through the same amount of coffee, and its going to be weak. Program you buttons for 2 shots to fill your cup and it will be pretty strong.
I have a 1st generation Gaggia Synchrony digital
Hi
If you make a pre-ground shot but don't put any coffee in it, and it does the same thing you have a blockage in the brew head.
If it run's normally, your grind is to fine. Push the grinder lever to a larger number. It takes 3 times to change to the new grind.
If it still dribbles, remove the brew unit (behind the door)
Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the backside towards the machine (looks like an "L" pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (becareful, there is an O-ring, spring and inside a crystal ball (don't loose it or your out of luck). Turn the brew unit upside down while holding the brew head in your other hand and the crystal ball should fall out. If it doesn't come out put a towel down and tap the brew unit on the towel. This should force it out.
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember thumbscrew, DON'T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.....
Once the screen is out look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. 1 big one in the center and a small one to the side.
With the brew unit upside down over the towel insert a paperclip into the small hole and force anything out the other side. I have gotten worms almost a 1" long from this passage. The paper clip has to go from this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
Clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Drop the crystal ball in first. Then the spring small end first on the crystal ball.
Now the O-ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the machine. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head.
Run another pre-ground without the coffee and rinse it out. Do this once in a while to prevent this
I have a Gaggia Synchrony problem: Whenever I
There is a lever above the center of the door on the side of the machine. Pull the lever 1 click towards the front of the machine and try again. You diodn't say what your grinds looked like, but if they a chunky your grinder is bad and needs to be fixed. That will cause it also to dump early.
Gaggia Syncrony "ventilate"
You need to push the hot water button on the machine panel to allow water to run out of the steam wand. After a few seconds the machines ventilate message should clear.
Brews only small amount of coffee and shuts down
HI
You could be getting a restriction in the brew head, but I would try making you grind a little coarser to start. If its too fine (the grind) you are creating more pressure that the pump can handle, and if the pump is running but the flow meter is not spinning you get the red light. Making the grind coarser allows the pump to work easier and usually the flow meter will start to spin again when making coffee
. If its the brew head here are instructions.
Remove the brew unit. Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the front side towards the door (looks like a long “L” pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold (“L” pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (be careful, there is an O-ring, spring and at the end a black rubber disk.
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember, thumbscrew), DON’T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.

Coffee seems stronger than normal.....maybe
If you are getting the same amount of coffee with the same button there is nothing wrong with the flow. You could have changed you grind setting or your dosseing amount. Have you cleaned you brew unit?
I have emptied the dregs drawer, after prompting,
Hi
Dredge drawer is the big box on the bottom right. That is where the grounds are dumped. Remove the drip tray and pull the drawer out about half way. Push it back in with 1 finger on the right side of the drawer. That should clear the message. If it comes back on when you put in the drip tray, there is a section of the drip tray that can be removed to stop that. On the right side of the drip tray is a notch. Inside that notch is a thin piece of plastic. It curls up on the right side. Cut out the piece that curls up (just the piece that curls, about an inch). When you push in the drip tray that curl lifts the dredge drawer and knocks it out of position.
When you want to empty the grounds because it says to in the menu, REMEMBER TO LEAVE THE MACHINE ON when you remove the drawer. The machine is a counter and when it reaches the magic number for that machine the message comes on. If the machine is turned off when you pull the drawer out, the machine doesn’t know this and the message will be there when you turn the machine back on. Also remember to leave the drawer out for at least 15 seconds or a little longer so the machine thinks you actually dumped the grounds
Where is the reset button?
If you press and hold the enter button think its also the decaf button you will get into the menu and can scroll threw there.
Too little volume

Coffee beans empty
Hi
Coffee beans empty is caused by the grinder running for about 15 seconds without filling the doser chamber. Sounds like you have a blockage in you grind passage. Try removing the brew group. Then inside on the roof of the machine where the brew unit was setting there is a drop chute where the coffee is dropped into the brew unit.
There is a lever on the right side of the bean hopper. Push the lever back to the largest number. You can push the lever to a larger number any time but it has to be grinding to pull to a smaller number. Now replace everything and make your coffee. Once you have made your coffee you can pull back to a number that was higher than the one you had it on, but only when the grinder is running.
