Icon doesn't show up in my computer

This wild mean the file system of the hard drive is set as something other than NTFS or FAT/FAT32. Mac and Linux would be able to read it just fine but due to the limitations of Windows, it wouldn't recognize the file system.
Google the program ext2read. It will enable reading of another file system in Windows.

I have a Lacie d2

Yeah, this is not a MAC only issue, it's typical with hard drives. From your description, I'm afraid your drive is broken, or misconfigured in the boot loader. The light is blinking because the machine is trying to communicate with the drive, and were there no noise, I'd say it could be the controller card, which could be replaced with some skill and an identical card; but, that's not a job most will do, and companies that do it charge 'a lot'! So, unless there's something you cannot live without on that drive, it's probably junk. The noise on the other hand is very familiar to me. It's indicative of failed mechanics, most likely a crashed head. The clicking is the drive trying to move the head's armature and slapping around. This can occur because of age, and most drives last 5+ years, but most are warranted for 2 to 5 years depending on manufacturer, or 250,000 to 1,000,000 hours MTBF for companies like seagate. (MTBF = mean time between failure). So, I don't expect you'll want to upvote this answer for such bad news; but, I figured someone ought to tell you.

Lacie 500 GB usb external hard drive clicking, and blinking....

had the same problem: (soft) clicking sound, orange/yellow blinking LED
Tried another power supply: nothing
Reattached that power supply back to the drive it was connected to: same problem there now as well!
Tried yet another power supply: working (all drives)

My guess is that the power supplies are the cause of the problem. Taking mine back to the shop next thing tomorrow morning...

My lacie external hard drive doesn't show up on my desktop the light just flicker

When it eventually will, check the disk (all terms may vary, depending of your version of Windows) : Right-click the icon of the disk, then click "properties". In the "Properties" window, select the "Tools" tab, and click "Check now". Check both checkboxes, and run. This should fix the access problems on your drive.

The power supply source is humming--buzzing? what does that mean?

if the noise is new then it would indicate a problem, probably age related and would suggest PSU failure is imminent, I had a similar problem with a charger adaptor recently unfortunately I didn't catch it in time and it damaged my device .....

Lacie serial number 1214802236941cr

Try connecting the LaCie to another computer. If this still does not work then the LaCie is faulty.
