Check and clean disc and try a known good disc, if problem presists, buy a laser disc head cleaner and if that doesn't work, you have a bad disc drive. Also check region and if it +or - readable

Hello BrandonThe fault is with its Laser Picku Unit itself. The sled motor, the motor that spins the disc inside the DVD player, should wok like this as you details here. Just see, when we put in a disc inside any disc player, it will sart spins, after it has been loaded properly into the mechanism. The the laser pickup unit will start scan the recording on the disc, reads it; recogonize its contents, then starts to play from the first track. This is an automatic process ot all disc players, and suring this reading process, the spin speed of the disc will vary, may stop, or rewind to a little and then spins again. This is a common process to all the playeres.Here, with your DVD player, the laser pickup unit tries to read the tracks, but fails, the again it starts to readit, fails and finally show a 'No Disc' display, as it hasn't got any details about the recoding at the inserted disc.There are three main causes for this fault. The first one is with a faulty strip wire. This wire is one, that connects the laser pickup unit with main board. You can see a flat ribbon type cable that connectes to laser pickup unit at the mechanism, to the main circuit board of the player. Replace this cable fist. This cable can be purchased from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town, and won't cost more.The second chance is with dirty or dusty laser pickup unit lens. To cclean this lens, the easisest way is to put in a lens cleaning disc into the unit, play it for at least three times, by ejecting it out and get it into. This process will clean up any dirt or dust accululated on the lens, and will help you. The cleaning disc also can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your town.The third chance is with a faulty Laser Pickup Unit istsef. If so, there is no repair to this unit other than replacing it with same type and number. It is a skilled work, and you have to disassemeble and reassemble the deck mechanism. I would say your chances are probably small of finding a battery. Durabrand are re-branded players from China (I think) for Walmart. I have literally seen loads of posts looking for replacement parts.

See if getting a replacement is mentioned in the original Users Manual that came with it.

The only other items I found was one used battery (not recommended, so I did not even post the link), or the following "universal" battery. I do not know if this battery will work with your unit.

You could also try contacting Walmart.

This model of DVD Player is made primarily for Walmart Stores so am Assuming you bought it there. Battery Swelling is an acid combustion issue, meaning they over-expired or over charged. Don't leave these charged for too long. Other than recommending to get the replacement that is mentioned in the original Users Manual that came with it, it's quite difficult to get a replacement. Unfortunately, without getting an exact genuine replacement, there is a down side to the Universal Battery. They claim to hold up to 11 hrs, but the average usage is about 5 hrs constant use. So you figure instead of 4 full length movies maybe 5, you might get about 2-3 movies if you're lucky. Trial and error and user results vary obviously.

And you may wish to check with Walmart. I believe this unit had a recall on it due to faulty wiring and or battery issues that cause a fire hazard. Silver Durabrand DVD Players as well as Purple and Pink ones were recalled. I would take it back if that is where you bought it and ask them about the recall. Or check with www.cpsc.gov to see any updated info.
