Unfortunately, your recorder is picking up a signal in the broadcast that copy-protects the show. The recorder is programmed to forbid copying of protected material. Depending on the source of the copy-protection, you may be able to block out the copy protection signal with a hardware filter. One example of these would be the Sima CT-2 that is placed between the S-out of the receiver and the S-in of the recorder.

(One common sources with this issue: a DVR that passes on the copy protection to an attached DVD recorder. Particularly some of the new Satellite/Cable receivers with built-in DVRs. The non-DVR models of the products usually filter out the copy-protection.)

Refer to its user manuals' specification sheet. You can see all details about the formats that this player can read.

unplug the hard drive inside and see if it boots. if it does then the hard drive needs fixing or replacing.

Get in touch with where you bought it from. They should be able to sort it out. It sounds to me that it could be faulty.

X probably means that it can't read the card. Either the card is not compatible or faulty.

Try switching it off and on again. When switching on, press eject.

You are probably trying to use a CD in a DVD-RW machine. Go buy the correct discs for your machine.

check the button is not stuck down, use contact cleaner.

Make sure there is not disc in it and try again, is it quicker?

Use a disc cleaner to clean the laser head.

Make sure once your put movie on DVD that you FINALIZE the disc.

You will need to remove the cover and inspect the capaciters, look for the cap/s that have expanded on the cap.and replace, If your not too happy at soldering look on YouTube for guidence, Make sure the larger capacitor are discharged with mains supply unpluged.

Hi All I have just had this problem. Note that the DVD reader/writer has packed up and the system will not boot any futher. Replace the DVD/reader/writer and your problem will be resolved

Possible that the mainboard is not working as there are errors within which it does not proceed to switch on.The processor needs to be checked and confirmed if this is working, check for heating of any particular IC's as this must be probed. also check the loading drive.
