I use MGI photosuite and love it. I just bought a
Windows 7 and 8 much the same (32 and 64 bit) you may missing files for Internet Explorer.Just today I was able to get PhotoSuite 4 to work in Windows 8. PhotoSuite 4 (P.S. 4) is dependent upon Internet Explorer 5 (I.E. 5) browser for its content/software to work. The original P.S. 4 CD hasI.E. 5 installer, I tried to install and the install quit with a check box to force install of all components. Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 8 was not affected in any way, that's how I got back here anyway. I have read ton's of suggestions and one mentioned I.E. Browser dependency and walla it was the answer that took me ten minutes to get it up and running. Good luck!

P.S. 4 worked in windows 7 (update), not full install for me so I assume original I.E 5 files were replaced full install windows 8. Good luck!

Cannot install MGI PhotoSuite4 on a computer running Windows 7 OS
The PhotoSuite 4 program is very old and won't work under Windows 7.

Thus even the compatibility mode probably won't help under Windows 7 32-bit. You can try it though by right clicking on the installer and then selecting Properties. In the Compatibility Mode tab, select Always Run this program in the compatibility mode and an older version of Windows. Then right click again and choose Run as Administrator. (You may have to do this again on the program itself.) Since Win7 64-bit requires signed drivers or programs, it is not as likely to work. (Check your version of Windows 7 by clicking Start > Control Panel > System and Security > System. If the title of your OS ends with x64, you have the 64-bit OS. Otherwise, you have the 32-bit OS.)If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate (or upgrade to one of those versions), you can run a virtual version of XP for free. Download and install Microsoft's Virtual PC and then XP mode (in order). This works best if your CPU supports virtualization and you enable the feature in your computer's BIOS. (There are work-arounds for computers without virtualization. See the MS support pages.) Install your PhotoSuite inside the virtual XP program in that case.This old software may run in that case. (However, I've had some Win2K software that ran under XP with the compatibility mode but didn't run under the virtual XP. Note: virtual computers do have some additional limitations. They do not talk to the host hard drive and other hardware directly. (You can install a printer on the host machine or the virtual machine but not both.) You'll need to save files on external media (flash drive, optical disc or other hard drive) to transfer them between the machines).Another option is to run an older version of Windows on another computer, as a dual boot computer or with Virtual PC (or another virtual computer package - VMWare or Parallels). In that case, you need a licensed version of the older Windows OS. Again install the program while running the older OS.The final option is to upgrade to a Windows 7 compatible Photo editor and organizer. Need to get scanned photos to between 300 and 600 dpi
What I saw first off is that although the resolution indicates 96 DPI, the file size itself between the 2 examples are drastically different. You are putting raster images into MS Word for publication work, and that is a NO NO. Word was not created for any kind of high resolution printing. It's a glorified text editor that people seem to think is an option for printing. YOU WILL NEVER GET 300 or 600 DPI images out of Word. Ever.
To create your project for printing, you need to use software more suited for the task. InDesign and Quark are examples, but they are very expensive. In my opinion, Publisher would be better for this kind of project and I hate myself for saying that.
Talk to your Printer, find out his specifications for Applications and Linescreen for Printing. The minimum requirement is 280 DPI, but if the image is placed at 100%, 600 DPI is overkill.
Oh, and try to never scan a scan... you are looking for trouble... a little thing called a Moiré pattern comes into play, and it will make you images print NASTY!

No. Try uploading it to a site. A free one I use is http://www.adrive.com/ . The problem with sites like KodakGallery.com and others is that you can't give the entire photo to friends. Emailing is dangerous over 2-3 megs because if your friends have dial up, you have just clogged up their e-mail and then only their server can make their e-mail work again by going in to delete the clog.

If you are in the middle of a contract, then cutting your wages is almost certainly a violation of your employment law rights. While I am by no means an expert on this matter, I did have a similar issue years ago - mid-contract wage cuts - and I hired an

If you are between contracts, your employer can re-negotiate your salary, but as far as I am aware, if you are in an agreed-upon contract, they cannot just decide to reduce your salary. If you want to settle matters, contest this action with support from a legal professional.
