My dishwasher wont start
Check the float switch inside the tub, near the front corner. Looks like a dome. Move it up and down gentle. Listen for a small click sound. Then try to start it.
Water enters dishwasher, soap door opens but soap
That's a normal path for the soap. It sounds like the water just sits in the bottom without being pumped through the spray arms. Does the pump motor run? Pop the door open in the middle of the washing cycle--you should see hot water dripping from everything and the soap picked up and circulated with the water. If this machine has seen a lot of use, the intake screen under the lower spray arm may be plugged and is accessed by removing the spray arm and working your way down to the bottom of the deck. Might be a problem for a service technician to take care of.
Cannot select any wash cycle but quick wash.
I had this same problem and being an electrical engineer, I decided to see what I could fix before replacing the board. The symptoms were the only cycle I could run was the QUICK WASH - no other cycle buttons responded.
I took the inside panel off and the cover plate off of the circuit board - just a few screws. Nothing on the PCB look scorched or burn and the silicone protection looked to be in tact. But I got it fixed - see below:
Remove power to the dish washer. Follow the ribbon cable from the top panel to the circuit board. Push back the white slider latch and pull the ribbon cable out. Using a knife edge, softly scrape off the connections which face the top side. wipe off with a towel when done and push back into the connector. make sure to pull the white slider latch back down to secure the cable.
that is all it took and we are back to washing dishes! Hope this helps.

There are many probable causes of failure .
A dishwasher's water inlet valve is its most common part to fail. When
your dishes are not being fully cleaned, quite often a faulty water
inlet valve is to blame. Test your dishwasher's water inlet valve, and
if it is no longer functioning as it should, you will have to replace
it.
Water temperature is a key element in achieving clean dishes. A
dishwasher's heating element is not designed to heat the water that
enters it. Rather, the heating element is designed to maintain the heat
of the water that enters the dishwasher. Its a good idea to run the hot
water in your sink for a couple of minutes before you run the
dishwasher. Just to make sure the water is nice and hot before it enters
the dishwasher. If the water is unable to stay hot, it can adversely
affect your dishwasher's cleaning ability.
There is a filter in your dishwasher. Its function is to keep large
particles of food and foreign objects away from the pump. Many of the
newly-manufactured dishwashers have self-cleaning filters, and routine
cleaning isn't a concern. However, some other dishwashers need to have
the filter removed and cleaned regularly. If the filter or grate is
clogged or blocked with debris, it may interfere with the normal
functioning of your dishwasher
After wash cycle and rinsed cycle there were suds
Make certain you do not use dish soap when rinsing the dishes. Make sure you only use DISHWASHER soap when running the DW.
In fact, there is no need to rinse dishes. Remove visible scraps and put them in the DW. If it is a quality DW it will clean your dishes. Do not crowd the dishes in the DW. Most JennAir DW's are quality. Make sure the top rack can get washing action from the bottom spray arm. No pots or other water stopping utensils on the bottom rack.
It is not cleaning dishes
If there is not enough water, the dishes would not get cleaned. This could be caused by a partially closed water shut-off valve (located under the sink), or a faulty dishwasher water valve (located at the bottom of the dishwasher, behind the kick panel, on either side).
Also, There is usually two, sometimes three spray arms in a dishwasher. Make sure there is no debris blocking the holes inside each spray arm.
**Water temperature Note***
To get the best results, the water has to be at 120 degrees Fahrenheit when entering the dishwasher.
