Hello. I have the solution to your problem. Remove the razor from the base, look into the left side of the base and you will most likely see a blockage preventing the area to drain. Use a tooth pick to clean this area out periodically and your problem is solved. Regards, Joe

the razor is warranted for 2 years if you want to contact Braun for replacement. You can try to tap the razor with the palm of your hand after taking off the shaver top and blades. Sometimes this will help dislodge anything that is keeping the shaver from making good contact inside razor.
Just don't beat it against anything hard.

I cannot reassemble the base

This isn't an easy part to disassemble. When reassembling, you have to make sure all the tabs line up as well as the plastic parts for the lights. If you're really confused about it and just can't figure it out, you can always try buying a used charging station off "that auction site". Don't spend more than $25.

Shaved hairs fall out of shaver head

IT'S A GOOD THING THAT THE HAIR COMES OUT ITS STOPS THE CLIPPERS FROM JAMING. USE A GARBAGE BAG AND POKE A HOLE BIG ENOUGH FOR YOUR HEAD. PUT THE GARBAGE BAG OVER YOUR SHOULDERS AND TRIM AWAY. THAT WILL HELP IT FROM GETTING OVER YOUR CLOTHES. IF YOU HAVE A GARAGE PUT A MIRROR IN THERE AND YOU CAN SWEEP UP THE HAIR OFF THE FLOOR EASIER THAN IN THE HOUSE.

Suddenly, the trimmer blade of my braun 8985 shaver

If you've used the shaver for a very long time, it could be that the trimmer part has worn out. You can buy a replacement body for your 8985 that includes the trimmer, from shaveroutlet.com. Replacement is not very difficult (not soldering involved). You pull off the bottom plug socket, take off the sides, unscrew 4 torx screws on the body, and the shaver comes apart. Good luck!

Braun won't charge.

I took the base apart and pressed the contacts out so that they can contact the shaver points easier, now it works like new. Turn the base upside down, press in the two clips and pull the inner portion out of the shell. You can now access the two charging contacts and press them or bend them so that they protrude out further. Make sure you unplug the unit and take out the cleaner cartridge before you flip it upside down too.

Cleaning base thinks it's empty

I had the same problem. Try taking out the cartridge and in the compartment where the razor sits in to get clean, there is a drain hole on the left side. Try cleaning the hole out with a toothpick or something similar. It seems that the drain hole clogs and causes this problem. I just did it and all seems to be working fine.
Cheers

Braun 360 Cleaning base

When you are looking top down into the cleaning base you want to look to the left side of the hole where you put your razor. That is were the solution drains out after your razor is cleaned and there is probably a blockage there. I used a toothpick to clean mine out every once in awhile when gunk would build up there.

Cleaning problem

I had the same problem. I was able to take the cleaning base apart. There are two little latches on the inside that when popped off, allow the cover to come off. It does however take some massaging to remove the cover. Once this is removed, take all the parts off until you get to the electric motor in the base. My suggestion would be to see where the motor attaches to the PCB and use a DMM to measure the voltage across the motor to see where the (+) terminal is when the motor is supposed to be in use. You will notice that the voltage supplied to the motor is approx 12V. This is the same voltage that the cord supplies (DC). Cut the motor free from the board, and directly attach the power cord ends to the motor terminals to see if the motor spins. You might want to take the motor out of the base for this part. What I noticed to the be the problem is there is a fine line between the where the motor is spinning free, when it turns the gears efficiently, and when it is in too far and binds up (which is more than likely the problem you are having now). Adjust the motors position until the gears turn smoothly. Now you can reattach the motor leads to the PCB. REMEMBER to hook them up in the correct holes, otherwise your motor will pump fuild out instead of pumping it back in. If you wish to test this before fully putting it back together, you will notice that there are two posts near to motor that stick up through the PCB. Those are used to measure the amount of fluid in the container. Simply bridge these with some wire or an alegator clip so that the cleaning base will think that were is a full container of fluid.

EMPTY!?!?

The "empty" light is for the cleaning solution. It needs to be replaced with a new clean cartridge. There should be a big button on the back of the cleaning unit which opens it up and allows you to replace the cartridge.
