Frigidaire FRS26H5AS Side by Side Refrigerator - Page 2 Questions & Answers
FRS23KF6EBA loud noise
Hi Charlie, thank you for allowing me to assist you!
Your new high-efficiency refrigerator may make unfamiliar sounds. These are all normal sounds and soon will become common to you. This also indicates your refrigerator is operating as designed. Hard surfaces, such as vinyl or wood floors, walls, and kitchen cabinets may make sounds more noticeable. If the noise, however, become louder or more pronounced, then you may want to connect with a local appliance technician to determine if anything else may be the cause.
WATER DISPENSER NOT WORKING
Good Afternoon Joe, thank you for your post!
I understand the water dispenser of your Frigidaire refrigerator is not working. First, I suggest checking that the water valve is completely open (typically located on the back of your refrigerator). Second, when was the last time the filter was changed? Most side-by-side filters are recommended to be change approximately every 6-9 months depending on your water usage and frequency. Also keep in mind that a clogged water filter or a blocked supply water valve may also lead to no water to the dispenser. If that is not the issue, than your refrigerator could possibly have a faulty valve, dispenser control board and/or failed water valve diode. Generally it is a good idea to have a professional take a look at it to get to the root cause. Cost of parts and technical expertise entailed in these types of replacements can be a bit tricky.

If it behind the ice maker more than likely its the evaporator fan that is making the noise.
I have a Frigidaire side by side - FRS26HF6BW2 -
I have the exact same issue. If you look closely at your filter, it probably has a crack in it. The workmanship on the filters is apparently horrible and the material is too thin causing it to crack and leak within 2-3 months of purchase. I was replacing filters at $45 each every 2-3 months and complained to Lowe's where I purchased the Refrigerator as it's still under warranty. The sent a repair man who tested my water pressure which was fine and he pointed out the cracks on the last two filters that I had saved. He said he sees this all the time and that there's nothing you can do about it but complain to Frigidaire. Well that's been a waste of my time so either we deal with a leak or we don't use the water dispenser in the door. Maybe if some of us band together and file a law suit against Frigidaire they might listen.

Hello Phil, thank you for your inquiry. Often when a
refrigerator is not cooling, it could have floating restriction in the line or
something more complicated like an issue with the sealed system that only a
professional can repair. This can include the compressor not working, the
evaporator fan not turning, or even coolant in the lines at incorrect levels to
properly cool. If the compressor is not running, it is urgent to reach out to a
technician. Meanwhile I suggest cleaning the unit out including the coils you
can reach (typically located in the bottom behind the toe grille) and make sure
no food items are blocking any vents in the unit. Also try checking and see if
the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and
the door. Now close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out
with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed
between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked
by anything stopping it from closing. If any of these suggestions prove to be
ineffective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially
more serious issues.

Hi Maurika, thank you for your question. Often when a unit is
recently installed and trips the breaker, it is typically because it may have too
many appliances running on one particular outlet, using a GFI plug or an issue
with the breaker. If any prove ineffective, then I recommend having an actual
diagnosis from an experienced tech would determine the precise cause to reduce
the risk of unnecessary parts.

Hello Abe, it is a pleasure to assist you. When the refrigerator is beeping or buzzing, it may be
a warning sign of a possible malfunction or an unsafe, interior temperature. To
silence the buzzer, you can depress the ALARM OFF button. However, if you have
already done this, try unplugging the unit or flipping the household circuit
breaker for about ten minutes.
If the alarm continues, it could possibly be experiencing a
communication problem with the temperature control/board or wiring failure. I
would recommend connecting with a professional appliance tech for a clear-cut
diagnosis.

Hi M - I am happy to assist you! Error codes SY/EF is
commonly refer to a failure with the evaporator fan circuit. Let's try resetting
the refrigerator by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit
breaker to the off position. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and
then turn the unit back on. If resetting the power does not correct the issue,
then more than likely there is a potential wiring failure between the main
control board and evaporator fan. In this regard, I would personally suggest to
reaching out to a repair tech to further evaluate and repair you appliance. If
you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reconnect.

Good Morning mclellan286 - There could be various reasons why your refrigerator is freezing. There could be a faulty defrost thermostat or the vent from the freezer has been blocked and is forcing air into the refrigeration section.
If I may suggest checking to make sure that items in the freezer are clear from the vents or walls in the freezer. If this is not an issue, it may be more of a technical issue and an authorized service provider would be able to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.
If you do not know a professional technician, manufacturer websites often have service provider locators' onsite to assist you in that regrd. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reconnect!
