The front covers are usually snapped into place. Grab at top and bottom and pull. It should pop right off. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Is the AC set on an energy saving mode. Together with this program if the thermostat is defective the same symtoms can appear. So please check on the thermostat and replace.
Since the compressor is cutting off the cooling does not take place to the extend that is set.

Hi, the best place for you to buy heating and air conditioning parts if you are not a contractor, is Grangers supply. On the motor, you will have a paper data plate with most all of the information you will need. I don't know if you have a Grangers supply where you live or not, but they are very big, and stock any part you may need. If you have the motor out, you can take it to them. This will be your best bet. You may have to go to the Internet and order this motor, or try a local appliance parts house. Just to be honest with you, some motors are hard to find. They do make universal motors that will fit. Take the model, serial, and name of your unit with you also. Please keep me posted on the out come. About 6000 BTU but that is the old way to measure it

Defective temperature control

Could be fan failure. The sound you here probably is the compressor running.

Reset the power to reset the unit, this can happen due to voltage fluctuations by your supplier, 1/2 the time in my experience this clears the error .
