Look closely at the red LED below the screen whilst turning the tv on to see if it flashes green and immediately turns red again. I f it does the power supply is bad. Go to ebay to get one. Here is a link to get one. Others are available on ebay besides this one.

While this TV is HD ready, it only contains an NTSC tuner. If you have an antenna or rabbit ears for reception, you will require a converter.

This unit IS NOT digital broadcast ready.

The faint light indicates that there is not enough power being provided to the other circuitry as well the humming sound is a good indication that the power supply needs ot be replaced or repair. If your TV is less then a year old, still under manufacturers warranty.

The power supply is bad. It supplies enough power to light the red LED when the tv is powered off, but not enough to power up the tv. You can find one on ebay.

You can find the manuel on the internet in google proscan and model. To hook up you need the cable
that fit in the back of the tv and the computer an have the tv on pc-vga

You have a bad power supply (AC adapter). Watch closely at the red light while turning tv on to see if red light momentarily flashes green, then back to red.

If the red light stays on your TV is not turning on at all. The light turns blue when on. CompUSA has 2 Proscans in the stor that have no cord. They can not get either to turn on with even a generis cord. Sorry but I think you should return it

Unplug the power for about an hour, then plug it back in.

Look at the infrared output of the remote through a video camera. You can see whether or not the remote is working in the camera. One for all universals do not have a device code for this tv.

remotes.com (1-800-remotes) has a remote for this tv. One for all remotes and radio shack remotes do not have a device code for this tv. Proscan is not made by GE, RCA, Thompson any more. They are marketed by oncorpus.com now.

What red light are you referring to? If you are talking about the red l-e-d power light beneath the screen, that is the power off light. If that red light light momentarily turns green and then immediately red again when you are attempting to turn the tv on, that indicates a bad power supply.

If there is something wrong with the internal circuitry of the remote, then it would be cheaper to just get a replacement. You can try either
a) The store you bought the TV from
b) The manufacturer
c) http://replacementremotes.com

I think that is typical of most brands of lcd tv's. Mine does the same, both on and off. You'll notice a message, "power off" on the screen when you turn it off.

Go to set up see if tv is set for antenna or cable. Set it for which ever you have.

Have you unplugged the power for a few seconds and plugging it back in?
