Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X2550 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system > click on "FILTER" > click on the driver under Recommended Downloads > download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.

Uninstall the existing printer driver first. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs / All Programs > Lexmark 2500 Series > Tools > Uninstall. Your computer will then start the uninstall process. Reboot pc when prompted.
Download and install the Lexmark X2500 using the downloadable driver available in the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/aKlcOJ. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Hello. Here's the button you need to press on the printer control panel to scan to computer(see image below).


For additional information on how to scan, here's the User's Guide (Lexmark X2500, X2550, X2570, X2580). If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printer does not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

take out the cartridge , turn off your printer and take out all the cables behind your printer and wait for 5 minutes and put everything back in.. if the same error shows.. im sorry but your printer needs to be replaced.

if you cant use the printer on your PC or it dosent show up when you plg itin, you need one thing which is the "Driver"

You get the driver on the CD when you buy the printer. Some people cant use their "CD/DVD Rom" which causes some issues installing the driver. Or sometimes they just dont get the Driver installer...

However i have the Solution for it...
You can download the driver from alot of websites, i've being searching for Lexmark X2500 driver and i have found some, one of them is on the link below:

Did you install the driver and software to your new computer? You will need the cd that came with the printer or you can go to the lexmark website, click on the support link, lookup your specific model # and select the o/s you are running. A list of all available drivers/software will appear. Download and install those you need and you'll be all set. Hope this helps.

Go into properties when printing and change the quality to draft. It will work, its a workaround I found
