its probably on the developer roller look at it as you spin the roller you should see a darker than normal area wipe the roller with a dry cloth until you no longer see it if you are turning it the right way no toner will come out the roller will have a thin even coating of toner on it or try cleaning the charge roller on top of the drum unit it should be 1 of the 2 these machines need to have the oem toner

the top of the waste toner container must be cleaned 100% from the toner because it should be a light sensor that has to pass through it , if its spoiled with toner the light cannot pass through it ,so i recommend you to empty the waste toner container first and wash it with water and drying it well before using it again.

that indicates an imperfection on a roller. could be fuser, dv unit, drum, etc... how far apart are the smudges center to center?

Under the QUICK PRINT tab, locate the DUPLEX icon. Click repeatedly to select between 'flip on short edge', 'flip on long edge', and 'OFF'.

theres a sensor where the casset meets the back of the machine if it dosnt get triggered it wont see any you can trick it and it will always see paper just keep it stocked of paper

check the dv unit

At the bottom of the printer you will find the paper cassette. Pull the handle and the cassette will slide out. Eventualy you will need to ajust the size of the paper.

Open top and front cover and remove Developer Unit. Next, open the left cover (at the waste toner box), remove waste toner box. Unlock the drum unit lock and then remove the drum unit. If the printer is dirty inside, clean it with vaccum cleaner. Be carefull with the drum surface, not to scratch it. Put the Drum Unit into a dark place if you remove the unit for a longer period of time. After you cleaned the printer inside, put the Drum Unit back. Dont forget to push the unit firmly, for good electrical contact. Put all the other components back and turn on the printer.

chek motor

remove drum /toner unit look at it, it most likely is the problem, is there a line or spots on the shiny surface? clean with soft cloth. otherwise will need to replace. If not that it will be the fuser, back of machine where it gets hot to melt toner to paper.
