The lazer is foulty.

we have 2 choices
1 send it to lg with a nasty letter2 throw it in the trash ane dont buy LG

eject belt propably worn out, does not close lid proper - so ejects back. change of belt solves problem.

Let the tape play all the way through and It will rewind on its own.

You may have to replace the lens on the player. O replace the entire DVD player. You may be able to find one online. be sure to give all the information possible.The problem is that the lens is not reading the digital information.

I have the exact same problem, mine has been out of commission since this spring. I just got out the old RCA and plugged it in at that time. Now I have time to mess with it and it looks like I spent $300 plus on a very poor product. LG support just says it is discontinued and no help. No more LG products for this guy or his family.

check scart fixings (in fully) and replace with shielded cables. Cause: signal leakage from unshielded inner cables.Just replaced my scart cables and this happened. Went back to old cables and it went. Cables returned to shop.

1.Switch on unit 2.Press- Setup on the remote 
3.Select the Lock option from the on screen setup menu 
4.Press Lock on the remote unit ( under slide cover) 
5.Press 0 7 times on the remote keypad 
6.A message appears stating the unit is now Code free on the screen 
7.Press Enter on the remote. 
8.Close Setup menu and switch unit off. 
9.Switch on and enjoy Multi-region DVD playing

No disc error can be a DIY like the following steps.

Assuming that the disc is good.

1. Cleaning the lens. - Sometimes because of dust the lens can't read any disc.

Try clean the lens by soft cotton buds. Be careful while doing this.

1. Replacing the ribbon - Check the ribbon connected to the lens from the main board for scratch, damage. Once it has an open line then of course the lens can't read the disc. Also try to erase the contact by pencil eraser.

If you've done the steps above and the symptoms still there then the next step requires you a little knowledge in soldering technique and reading the ohmmeter.

1. Checked the motor - Check the motor that spin the disc with an ohmmeter. You can test it using the ohmmeter (x1) even it is connected on the lens assembly.

Good motor - reading should be fairly high and it will spin.

Bad motor - reading will drop to low resistance and will not spin.

Hint : 50% of my repaired unit motor is commonly the caused of the problem.

If you confirmed that you have a defective motor then replace it with a new one. Before replacing the new motor you have to check the clearance of the disc holder with the old one. The clearance should be the same as the old because if not the lens will not read the disc if it is too far or too close.

If you already cleaned the lens, and confirmed that the ribbon is good as well as the motor then I've advice you to send it to repair shop because the next step should be done with an expert because it is quite technical diagnosing the fault between the pick-up lens and the main board.
