I have had the Moto Q for about a week. Plugged it in last night before bed and this morning it wont turn on. I have tried taking the battery out as well as pluggin it in to the charger...no dice. Help! I need my phone.
Hold down the center nav key and power up the unit. This will restore any files that may have been corrupted and put them to original. If you loaded a 3 party app or something prior to this may be the cause of the issue. Don't use that app.

my problem is that i will delete my text messages and i will empty the deleted folder and when i turn my phone off and turn it back on they appear back in the folder that is was in before it got deleted..can somebody please tell me how to fix this becuase i have like probably over 10,000 text messages in my inbox because when i delete them they come back..and it is using up my memory and when my memory gets to low it wont let me send or recieve text messages
Should also just be able to select Menu->Folders, get on the folder you want cleared, click Menu->Delete All. If you don't have items in that folder you will see Delete All but you won't be able to select it.

my q turned off when i had full battery and wont turn on unless it is plugged into the charger. when i get it turned on the screen is back and the message motorola flash mode bootloader version: boot_c_03.05.00r_mpap usb cable connected comes up what can i do
Have you tried a Master Re-set when the phone is off? Hold the center key and the power button for at least a FULL minute to a minute and a half. You will see the provider's splash screen, but hang tough.
This works best with the device on a flat surface rather than holding it.

My Motorola Q screen cuts in and out to a black screen for no reason. Sometimes when a call comes in, it takes 5 minutes for the screen to even go from black to anything else. Does anyone else have this problem?
OK> I have a Q9h with this problem, took it to the shop, they said its a common problem with the Q9h, something to do with a mainboard flaw. He said it cant be fixed.
Now I say it can. What you need is the screwdriver to open the back (T4 or T5, not sure exactly) and some paper. Now, open the back of the phone, pull off the casing, and you should have an open mainboard. Now, take a strip of paper, fold it up, and slip it in under the sim card slot (there is a small gap between the main mainboard and the piece where the sim card is read. Make sure the paper is snug, not tight, or you may have trouble closing the casing. Snap the casing back in, tighten the screws well, and you should be laughing. I've been good for a week, and saved myself $100 on a new mainboard or buying a new phone.

i bought a Moto q flashed to cricket off e-bay and when I set up new phone it won't program. *228 doesn't work and I took it to the store and they were unable to fix. I need help PLEASE. I have been looking for 2 days to fix this prob and can't find what I need.
How to Activate your Motorola Q
Things you need in order to activate the Motorola Q on cricket:
1. Call cricket and put the phone's ESN(serial number) on the account. Thisis
called switching phones and they usually charge $15 for that.
2. Min Number: This is a 10 digit phone number(not your cell number) thatneeds
to be put in the phone. You have to call cricket and ask them for your MIN
number.
Activating Your Phone
Unlike cricket phones , flashed phones need a special way of programming!
They cant be activated through the normal *228 process.
On your phone keypad screen:
1. Push ##073887*
2. This should open your programming menu
3. Put in 000000 for the security code
4. Press OK and Go To User Activation
4. Put in your Phone number in MDN then your MIN number
5. Choose done and exit out
If you provided us with your Phone number before we shipped the phone to you then Wap & MMS are already programmed, otherwise please follow the guide below:
Note: You will need a standard usb cable
To get internet to work, you have to first activate the phone on cricket.
Now that your phone is activated. here are the steps to get the internet
working :
1) Download and install ActiveSync here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download/4c...9c61/download/
2)Download the Attachment File at http://www.megaupload.com/"d=YJOT74OQ
3)Download PHM Registry at:
http://www.mobiletopsoft.com/pocket-pc/download-phm-registry-editor-0-7.html
Cricket Wap setting:
Download the attachment and unzip then put the unzipped folder named Q in
your C: not to any folder just C: so it would be like this C:\Q
In the Q folder you will have3 file rapiconfig.exe, Command Prompt and delete-n-set.xml
Right click on the file delete-n-set.xml and open with notepad and replace
where it said [email protected] to your phone number @ mycricket.com
so 5055505050 will be replace with your own 10digits phone number. Click
on file->save and close the notepad
Run the command Prompt and type after the ">" cd C:\Q
So it should be like this >cd C:\Q and press enter
Then it will jump down to the next line and it look like this C:\Q>
Now type this in >rapiconfig.exe /p delete-n-set.xml there is a space between
exe and /p
It should look like this C:\Q>rapiconfig.exe /p delete-n-set.xml (now hit
enter)
Now you will see it said
"Config results written to output file RapiconfigOut.xml."
"Config succeeded."
You are done with wap setting. Unplug the phone from your computer
You can turn off the phone and turn it back on. Go to internet explore on
your phone and access the tekcirC web site http://wap.cricket.motricity.com
It should work if you have web on your tekcirC account.
MMS setting:
Load the phmregistry into your phone and installed. Click ok when it said
" may not display properly because it designed for previous version". And
click done
After it done install on your phone. Go to Start and open PHM Registry Editor
(on you phone)
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Motorola -> MMS -> Profiles
Now in Profiles you will see VZW MMS you can change this to CKT MMS by press
Menu and choose Rename. Or you can leave it alone it would effect anything
it just a name for the profile.
I assumed that you have change the VZW MMS to CKT MMS from this point on
Choose CKT MMS. In here won"t see anything yet.
Press "Values". Now it will show you the following item
Data Connections
Gateway
IP Address
MMSC URL
Port
Profile Locked
Now choose "IP Address". You notice the default address is " gw.vzwwap.com"
change this to "10.3.0.41". Make sure you hit "Done" to save the setting
and then it will bring you back to the list above.
Choose "MMSC URL" and you will have http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms as
default. Change the word "vtext" to "mycricket" and click done to save.
Choose "Port" and make sure it "8080" and click done to save
Do not change anything else. You could if you sure you know what you are
doing.
That it you are done click the "end" key to go to the main screen and restart
your phone so it fresh .
Have fun and enjoy the motoQ on tekcirC. Now you don"t have to wait for tekcirC
to release the Q if the rumor is true.

Please can someone helps me? I just bought a brand new motorola Q on ebay. I can receive text messages, but I can send them. An error occurs while sending a text message.
Please how can I do to fix that problem?
Thank you for your help
Hey, I just bought the same phone from ebay, and it was preflashed for cricket too. My phone had the same exact problem. I called cricket technical support at 1-800-274-2538 and they refreshed my flashing while i was on the phone with them. As soon as I got off the phone with them my phone worked perfectly. I hope this helps! - Alyssa
