I have to have the hot water on to do wash i only want to use cold

Is the screen plugged on the hose going to the cold connection? If that is fine maybe the cold valve solenoid is burnt out.

Why is Maytag Centennial 3.2 cu. ft. SuperSize Capacity Plus Top Load Washer shaking during spin cycle

check to make sure it is sitting level on the floor and one leg adjuster hasnt backed in making it shake. But even when you stick cloths in evenly they can bunch up during cycles.

Maytag centennial commercial technology washer, having intermittent trouble with controls, wondering how to acess controls to clean connections ?

There are two 1/4 inch hex screws on the back of the control panel and a pair of metal tabs at the base that hold the panel assembly together. I found this video on youtube that illustrates how to take the assembly apart.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yxjNiAKvYwI fixed mine by just cleaning the contacts on the auto load sensing switch.

Maytag centennial washer not working properly in

We have the same problem. The Normal cycle still works, but after the final spin cycle, water is again added (1 gal est.) and the machine stops. Problem occurred after washing an old 25 x 30 inch rug which partially disentegrated when washed. We were seeing particles of the rug in subsequent wash cycles during drain into laundry tub. Don't know if something is plugged in the washer or if it is something else. In another load after the rug wash, the top of the washer was lifted during the wash cycle. The water problem occurred immediately after lifting the lid as the wash load went through remaining cycles. Maybe this affected the timer? Maytag customer service suggested unplugging power cord to re-set timer. This didn't make any difference. We need a technician to tell us if this is a timer problem or something else?

Washer won't change gears from

Hi and welcome to FidYa, I am Kelly,
If it does not agitate or spin suspect the lid switch. Listen for a microswitch click as the lid just opens or closes. No Click = bad lid switch.

If it spins then the lid switch is fine and there is a problem with the water level control pressure switch or possibly the control.

Since you did not include a model number this is my best guess for a 3.2 cu ft machine
MVWC300VW0

This lid switch is item 6 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5519632

The water level control switch is item 4 this link:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5519632&diagram_id=28626536#d28626536

The timer item 7 of the above link can also cause this symptom. You must elimiate the water level control as a possible cause first. There is a FOLDED wiring diagram in the literature packet insde the top panel 3 x 5 envelope you can use to jumper the wires on the water level control switch. If the motor agitates then the water level switch is the problem. If it does not agitate it can be the timer or the motor. (More troubleshooting required via the wiring diagrams following power through the circuit to the motor.)

At this time I think you may just have a water level control switch problem. If you do end up replacing it... the wash tub must be empty or it will overflow when testing.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly
