LG WM2455 Front Load Washer - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Water will not fill
It appears your dual inlet water valve has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa

Why would the detergent cup
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is a common problem with many machines.
I suspect that it is the conditioner/softener tray which needs a thorough clean, paying particular attention to the sentences in
BOLD
-------------------------------------
Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-
- Top catch-
push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
- release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit) or
- lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath.
Once out identify which tray is for the conditioner- the others are simply 'chutes' and open-ended.
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube but on others the cover is part of the tray's plastic top
. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Machine gets stuck in rinse cycle - sometimes gets
Hello &
Welcome to FixYa
OE is a drain error and is displayed when the
washer is unable to drain water. Please check the drain hose and drain pump
filter located inside the front bottom for any clogs to clean the error. Please get back to me if you have any
other questions.

I need to move it, I dont have the bolts, what
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
You could try first sourcing the bolts from the internet (but check my second paragraph!)
Spares Suppliers
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make) washer spares' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can order. During the process you will be asked for the actual model number. Alternately you could try telephone directories for spares suppliers but I would think the former would be more successful.
If that fails
If you do not have the time or success and providing you are very careful- and the back removes (!)- use blankets, foam or similar to push in around the drum so that it will not move BUT avoid disturbing plugs/cables/connectors!
Then still have it moved carefully!
Good luck,
John C
Washmachine not spining clothes still
Check the voltage to the motor when the spin cycle is active. make sure the inlet valve opened and allowed water to come in then shut and allows the motor to start. Make sure the front door switch is working to run the program and execute the commands.
If voltage is present on the motor without action then the capacitor is faulty . if not the program controller is faulty.
What is error code FE on LGWM2455HG
Hello,
The FE code is a overflow code. This can indicate a bad pressure switch but more likely just a clogged pressure switch hose. Remove the top of the machine and locate the pressure switch. It will be the part with the surgical looking hose connected to it. disconnect the hose and be sure it is not clogged. If it is clear replace the pressure switch.
Good Luck.

How to balance or realign the machine so it does
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France
I mostly answer front load problems but ' out of balance' is a common problem with both!
So- I don't know your particular machine but the initial cure is the same.
It is necessary to ensure absolutely that the machine, even when empty, has all 4 feet very firmly on the floor, and I mean firmly ;-0)
Doesn't matter whether it is empty or not but switch it off then-
very firmly push one front corner diagonally into the centre of the machine (sorry about my UK spelling!) and see if the machine moves or rocks AT ALL, even the slightest. If it does you will need the open-ended spanner which came with the (new) machine........which of course went missing a long time ago?!! An adjustable spanner will suffice.
Adjust the foot under that corner downwards until it is very firmly- almost pushing- against the floor but not so far that the corner lifts up!
If this corner did not rock do the same to the other.
Once you cannot rock the machine the slightest little bit, screw the locking nuts up tight to the underside of the machine so that they will not move. Ideally the rear feet should also be locked.
If this has not cured the problem it is possible that the internal drum suspension is malfunctioning but I've not had any feedback of this nature.
Good luck,
John C
Front load washer had code
That would be a tE (thermister error). The thermister is located right next to or, on some models, is part of the heating element. It is nearly impossible to replace without taking the front off the washer. It is located right at the front of the outer wash tub. (just below the gray rubber door gasket)
Our dog chewed off the front drain door and part
i am a lg servicer and have been for several years ... you can call lg @ 1-800-847-7597 AND GO THROUGH PROMPTS SOMEONE WILL ANSWER and make sure you have your model number on hand... be warned some of the people taken the orders are not the brightest so if you can find a pars schematic and identify the correct names of the parts you are looking for would be the best.
www.repairclinic.com offers a place to type in your model number and i believe will come up with a parts diagram of unit locate what you need and either order from them or call lg directly. good luck to you
