LG WM2455 Front Load Washer Questions & Answers
Hi! We bought our WM2455H washer on February
Do a tub clean cycle. Hottest water, no clothes, cup of bleach in washer, fill bleach dispenser with bleach, fill softener with bleach. Run once or twice. The 'grease' is actually residue from liquid detergent and/or softener. So stop using liquid detergent and switch to powdered (no residue believe it or not). Use plain white vinegar in place of softener. The acid eliminates the mildew residue and also helps get detergent residue out of your clothes. Good luck.
I get as code that has a upside down F with an E

LG WM2455HW washer won't spin when loaded
The tub was slipping on the motor and when loaded would not spin. I noted when accessing through the back panel that the rotor bolt was loose, probably from the factory as the unit has been used less than two years. When I inspected the rotor, the plastic insert that is screwed into the rotor housing and provides the splined hole that fits over the splined shaft from the motor/stator, the plastic ridges had been destroyed. There are three screws mounting the plastic piece onto the rotor so it appears that the designers anticipated selling replacement for the plastic piece alone. So far this evening, I've only been able to find complete rotor assemblies costing $100+.So, bottom line, your rotor may just be loose.
My LG washer wont turn on, if I unplug it from the wall and plug it back in, it will work for one cycle, but then the next time I go to use it, I have to unplug it again to get it to work.
After searching for the answer as to why my LG WM2455H wouldn't start unless I unplugged it and then plugged it again, and trying many "solutions", such as holding the power and start buttons for x amount of seconds, I finally found one that worked. Just before ordering a new control panel, I decided to search one more time for an answer, and found a young man claim that his uncle told him the answer to solving the problem. It's a little weird, and I was very skeptical, as you will be, but it DID WORK to let my washer power on after running cycles of wash. Here it is: Within 12 seconds, push in the POWER button and let go, then open and close the washer door, repeat by pushing in power button again, and let it go, then immediately open and close the washer door again. Do this six times within a 12 second time span. According to the young man on youtube, this procedure RESETS the controls. I would still be a little skeptical, except my machine behaves like it's suppose to now. PLUS, I did nothing that might be attributed to the solution (except think about how I was going to move the heavy washer away from the wall to replace the Control Panel I planned to buy). So, I hope this works for you. It certainly saved me a lot of time and money.
Washer won't unlock
These doors are usually on a timer and so won't be released for opening until a couple of minutes have passed by after turning the machine off.Assuming you've already allowed for this, try giving the door a good firm push (closing) on the mechanism. It may just have caught partially closed.
I have LG Tromm WM2455H front loading washer.
The problem may be with the lock itself. Check to see if there is any signs of wear at the lock and lid assembly. Post back your findings and I will look for a service manual for your unit.Regards,Richard

It appears your dual inlet water valve has failed in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa

Why would the detergent cup
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is a common problem with many machines.
I suspect that it is the conditioner/softener tray which needs a thorough clean, paying particular attention to the sentences in
BOLD
-------------------------------------
Remove the complete drawer. To do this you will have to do one of the following-
- Top catch-
push down the lip/catch at the middle rear and pull the drawer out (that's how our Bosch one is removed)
- release the catches underneath (our daughter's Indesit) or
- lift upwards on the tray as it is coming out to clear the lip underneath.
Once out identify which tray is for the conditioner- the others are simply 'chutes' and open-ended.
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube but on others the cover is part of the tray's plastic top
. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

We have drained cleaned out
The pump is stopped up. if you turn the washer on its side and look underneath, you will find a black hose that is bi directional. to one side it is connected to the pump, this will be the side closest to the front where the pump filter is located. if you remove that hose, take the pump assembly out by removing the screws in the front access panel and then clean it out, you should have the problem solved. Also, the pump assembly has three screws in the top that separate it from the filter assembly, remove those three screws and you will see a turbine. be sure to mark your black and brown wire to the pump before unplugging. make sure that the turbine turns freely and is not locked up, if it is stuck, you need a new pump.
