Frigidaire 20.6 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator with Factory Installed Ice Maker - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Ice maker is not working.
Ice maker has built in thermostat that turns cycle on at around 10 degrees F. If freezer temp does not reach that point the ice maker will not cycle. So either the freezer is not cold enough or the thermostat is faulty.
Make sure that the ice maker motor that turns the cams and controls the various stages is also working.
RUST ON REFRIGERATOR DOOR
Hello friend, thank you for your post!
I understand that there is rust on the door of your Frigidaire refrigerator. Typically, rust is not covered under the warranty and in most cases the door will more than likely need replacing. If you would like to get a part number and availability I would recommend contacting the manufacturer directly. If you would like for me to locate that information for you could you please provide me with your model number? You can locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of your fresh food side. I look forward to assisting you. -Matt
How do i replace a top freezer door gasket
Hey friend, thank you for your post!
On a top mount Frigidaire refrigerator the gasket is a magnetic strip which should be able to be easily removed. You would have to order a new gasket for your refrigerator which you should be able to reach out to the manufacture for part number and availability.
If you need any additional assistance with replacing the gasket I would recommend reaching out to a professional for proper replacement. Hopefully this information is helpful. -Matt
How can I get rid of the disgusting little floater ribbons in my ice?
Thank you for your post, friend!
I understand that you are getting debris along with your ice that is coming from your Frigidaire refrigerator. I would be unable to provide you directions on how to clean out the piping for your refrigerator but if you have the model number I can check to see what kind of information is available regarding the filter. You can normally locate the serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside cabinet of the fresh food compartment normally on the left side of a top mount. On a side by side it can be found on the right hand side. I look forward to your response. -Matt

Hey friend, thank you for the post!
From my understanding you have water leaking out of the freezer of your Frigidaire refrigerator and onto the floor. I would like to ask you a couple of additional questions. First, do you see where the water is coming from? Secondly, what is the model number of your appliance? You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside cabinet of the fresh food compartment normally on the left side in a top mount. But on a side by side it can be found on the right hand side. I look forward to hearing back from you. -Matt
WHY DOES MY ICE MAKER ONLY MAKES ICE SOMETIME
Are the cubes normal - the right size, not hollow? Once frozen and the harvest cycle begins, does it take longer than a couple minutes for the cubes to drop? After the ice drops does it fill with water each time?
If everything checks OK the last thing is very important. The rate at which an ice maker produces cubes depends on the temperature of the freezer - the colder it is the quicker the cycle. Try nudging the controls up a bit and wait 24 hours.
How do I check the compressor "?"
Good Morning Friend,

In order to better assist, I kindly ask for the model number of your appliance. Typically, this number will be located inside the refrigerator area on the right or left wall. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Ice maker was making more ice than I could
try adjusting the freezer temp. control. Might need to make it colder. Had the same problem with my Kenmore. Turned the freezer just a bit colder and now it is making more than we can use. Dialed the temp. control back to where it was before and everything is back to normal.
Breaker trips when Kenmore refridgerator is plugged in
That is Not a good thing.I will assume the breaker trips when the motor on the fridge kicks in.How old are the breakers and how old is the fridge? If either is approaching 20 years, I would call an electrician for the breakers and/or go to the wholesale fridge warehouse for a new fridge..Old fridges need to be replaced, old breakers - even more so.There is one device that might buy you some time --- a voltage regulator. But don't hold your breath. Rather, read this paper: http://www.esat.kuleuven.be/electa/publications/fulltexts/pub_1147.pdfUltimately you lef t of many details -- like did you just move your old fridge into a new place? Or did the fridge work great for x amount of years and then this started happening? Lots of stuff to know here.As an example: One time a mouse chewed my wires just enough to cause trouble, but not enough to clue my meter - the meter said the voltage was OK. It can get complicated.NTL, I doubt you went very long without a fridge.John
Fridge and freezer both stopped
check lines for leaks, check all components. If the compressors kicks on then check lines if the compressor doesn't then that's a potential problem as well. If everything; lines, compressor and expansion canister are looking good then your out of freon, it is the gas that is used to transfer heat from the compartments to outside. Having no freon further tells you that you have a leak, since freon is expensive depending on how much your appliance requires, its best to check everything first before you start removing parts from the appliance
