This is a very common problems with LCD and Plasma tvs.The power supply board have dead leakagas capacitors.These dead capacitors they alway bulges up on it tops or puff up on it tops.U know basic electonic's and soldering take the tv aparts searches all around the power supply board,that the board where the power a/c cord conected to it.Replaced these dead leakages capacitors,ur tv will power up again and work.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

13 blinks is backlight inverter board bad.

try pressing numbers on your remote, or press channel up/down arrows to release from dvd and satellite rcv. after you have done then go on menu for searching your tv

Power supply problems. check SMPs and other feed back voltage signals.

What you describe is not any type of digital artifacting. This leads me to believe that your TV is in need of repair or replacement.

if this is a hddvr directv knows about it and has fixed it already, if not push the red reset button, as soon as the first "hello" with the blue backround comes up pus 0,2,4,6,8 this will force the latest download and fix the problem

also check resistor r526 0,47ohm

8 flash is Audio Protection. You need to have the AU board replaced. PN: A-1433-191-A. I hope this was of some assistance.

This is a Common problem on these sets. Kindly Reconfirm the Make and Model of the TV.

Unplug the Unit for Few Minutes, say 30 Minutes and then Turn it ON.If Problem Persists, tell me the Number of Blinks?

If you are connecting the cable directly to the TV with no cable box, you'll select Home on the remote control. This will put the menu on screen. Scroll down until you find the Channel Settings option. Set the Cable category to On, Select Auto Program to automatically scan for all analog and digital channels. You can then customize which channels you want to remove when scanning channels.

I have also experienced the same problem on two occasions, but my Sony TV KDLV3000 has actually been backwards and forwards on three occasions to be repaired. I have had a new control unit and will be having a second screen replacement shortly. I have contacted my local Sony Centre and they have stated that they will only replace the TV if there are THREE IDENTICAL faults.

COME ON SONY CENTRE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND TAKE A NOTE FROM JOHN LEWIS THERE CUSTOMER CARE IS SECOND TO NONE.

Not sure I'll buy a Sony again after this experience having been a loyal Sony customer for a number of years, will probably look at a Samsung or LG next time.

sorry. Hope you still have a waranty. This is not an uncommon problem with the sony's. 99% chance that the panel went out. Could also be a balance board issue, but usually not. Call Sony for an authorized repair center

call up some local repair shops ( tv repair shops) they usually have some kicking around that you can pick up rather cheap. Super simple replacement too you will be shocked at how little it takes to replace them!

please let sony know as i have the same probem and they are not acknowledging the problem with this model

Please try this TV on an alternative power source. It sounds like it is getting either too much or inconsistent power from the plug it is plugged into. I recommend trying a completely different wall, as often times one wall with multiple plugs will be on the same circuit.

This would be due to the backlight, I do encourage you to have it looked at, a new backlight under $100 bucks in most cases.

If your Sony came with a CD or DVD, you may need to install special drivers so your PC can find the set.
If it didn't, you may have to select the external VGA output on your laptop to activate it; not all laptops have that output turned on by default.

Please recheck Lamp Cover and make sure it is fixed in its space securely as 3 times red blink shows lamp cover error.
There is small safety switch in TV cabinet under lamp cover that has to be pushed by lamp cover if it is fixed in its position properly. That switch is not being pressed by lamp cover and causing this error.

I would look at the power supply first since it can be that the power supply is supplying good clean DC voltage to the circuits due to bad filter capacitors.
