Something has failed internally, either a fuse or control board or power supply board. I gather it doesn't have sound either?

First check with Sony to see if there may possibly be a software update.

I have a Sony Bravia 46'' TV. I bought a Universal WiFi Adapter from Walmart a few years ago for about $50. You have to plug it into the Ethernet port on the Bravia using an Ethernet cable (the other end of the Ethernet cable goes into the Ethernet port on the adapter). The adapter needs also a power outlet. I do not remember if the adapter came with the Ethernet cable (likely) or I had to buy it separately. Before buying the adapter make sure that: 1. Your Bravia has an Ethernet port (on my Bravia it is in the back of the TV), and 2. You have/use a wireless router for your home network. Hope this helps.

I would buy a inexpensive timer you can program to turn the TV off and on. Plug the TV into the timer on the wall outlet and Voila !

Scene Select: Allows you to easily adjust your TV to the most suitable picture and sound settings based on the scenes for the best quality result for the contents genre you are watching (page 20 of your manual). Additionally do not place the back closer than 3" to the wall, (stand,) 4" on either side and nothing closer than 12" from the top of the TV. On the TV remote there should be a format button. pick on the one that the dvd is connected with

The sound is MUTED. Press the MUTE button on remote to UN-MUTE.
