Pure Digital Flip Video Ultra Camcorder - Page 6 Questions & Answers
My Flipshare video camera will
Hi d_cockerham,You should try resetting your
Ultra HD Flip Camcorder. Unfortunaately the support knowledgebase does not list the proceedure but I managed to get an email from them on how to proceed.
The steps to
reset/resolve an issue where your UltraHD will NOT turn "On" is as follows:
- Remove the battery pack from the camcorder.
- Connect the camcorder to a powered USB port on your computer.
- When the "Connected" indicator comes on, insert the battery pack into the camcorder.
- Safe eject your camcorder from your computer.
- Reconnect your camcorder to your computer.
- The battery pack should now begin to charge within the camcorder
Hope this helps anyone else who encountered similar problems.
My Flip Ultra HD LCD
Nope...LCD screens on camcorders, cell phones, etc., can not be fixed.
And being that small LCD screens are part of small electronic devices,
they are not modular (removable).
thanks.
To regain record time we are told to re-format the flip video ult
I had the same problem so I tried the thing on the website and it didn't work so I looked it up on Youtube and someone figured out how to do it. I tried it and I got all 60 minutes back. You should try this, it probably works.
PS instead of 5 nines it's 6 nines.
FLIP Ultra model U1120 will
This may sound like a stupid question, but did you make sure your rechargeable battery pack is installed??? if they are in there I would try removing and check connections to make sure they are clean and no dirt and then try reseating the battery pack again. if no battery try installing AA batteries, my model U2120 takes those also if you are new to this camera, there is a little dial at bottom of camcorder to unlock the front cover, turn to unlock and the front of the camera slides off to show the battery compartment. maybe the rechargeable battery pack is shot and won't charge so try the regular batteries whatever kind yours takes. good luck!
~ USB Not Recognized (Unknown) ~
Worked for me! Take out the battery and plug into your USB port without the battery, your computer should recognize the device and you can get your files off of the flip.
Flip cam frozen
You can do a hard reset on it. Take a paperclip and unbend it. On the bottom of the camera is a little pinhole located inside the tripod mount. Just push the paperclip in there until the camera resets itself.
Hi i have a flip
Hi,
I'd go into the camera's menu and format the memory as the files likely weren't deleted properly by the computer.
My flip video ultra hd
Hello,
Your issue is consistent with memory corruption in the camera itself. This would make it super hard to recover those videos without data recovery witch is not cheap.
To get the camera working again the memory needs to be delete and reformatted.

The battery may be dead, but my Flip did the same thing and I Googled solutions and none worked till one said just to let it charge for 3 hours I did this and it worked great.
Hope that helps.
When I press the power
Will the camcorder let you go ahead and complete "SETUP"?? if so, go ahead and redo the setup maybe some glich and maybe doing setup again may get the camera going again? hope so!! I have one also and knock on wood, no problems so far. it may be worth a try:
when camcorder turns on: when Flip Video Logo comes up press and hold RECORD button, to enter setup mode use the + and - to adjust current setting and the left and right arrows to select other settings
good luck!
Is there a phone number for Flip Technical Support?
The tech support number is 415.445.7626 and then option 2. I just spoke with Kevin, the floor supervisor and he was less than helpful. My brand new minoHD simply won't work--not very impressed with this camera, and I hope Cisco hasn't made a huge mistake...
Lost time/inaccessible files on flip
This may sound risky, but I did this and my Camera is working perfectly again... If you don't have any videos on it you need to salvage too badly this should do the trick.
1) Plug it in (obviously)
2) Go to My Computer and right click your video camera
3) Click Format
4) I clicked restore device defaults because it sounded safe (but may not be necessary)
5) Click start and begin the reformatting
After this i went from my incorrect 27:11 min. remaining on the camera to the full 60. Still records perfectly and the software is still on it and works correctly. Hope it helps some of you out there =)
Flip Ultra HD red light won't turn off after
UNIT: ultraHD
PROBLEM:
I just had this problem: I turned it on, started to record a video, but it hung up on frame #1, with the record red light stuck on. And I couldn't do any of the following: restart the recording, play already recorded videos, turn it off, connect to PC.
SOLUTION:
I removed the battery for about 30 seconds, then replaced it. my UltraHD flip works great now.
I've used my flip once.
Hi,
The piece that they are talking about will be all the way inside where the batteries contact...if you are not seeing it, then that is not the problem.
If the camera is not that old, it should still be covered by the manufacturer wrranty and you should not need a receipt for that. I would cantact them directly for a replacement.
