Hi ,
Connect camera to power and USB .
Set power button on "on".
Rotate selection ring knob on "play" ( green arrow ) and open screen .
Wait for camera to be recognized by your OS ( sound " ding dong " in Windows for instance ) .
With joystick inside ring knob , select " PC connect " on the screen of the camera , press on joystick to PC, press again to HDD and wait for connection confirmation .
Now open " My computer " or " computer " on your machine . You will see the camera recognized as a supplementary drive . Clic on the icon , see the files and copy them to your HDD .
Note there are MOD files , you can reed them on your machine but still will not be abble to create a dvd .
Please , look in " fanaudi's solutions" if you need to solve this new issue .

It's called SDCopy and has especially been designed for the Panassonic cameras with HDD or SD cards .
Once your files are converted , you can use any sofware you want to edit your movie and burn it on dvd .
From my point of vue , Cyberlink Power Director is the best but there are many others on the market .

some codec will not be supported by vista movie maker. As far as i know it still cant deal with mod very well. U have to use a prefessional tool to deal with mod files.
Try Pavtube MOD Converter which can convert mod to any other formats u want. And the output file can be played in full screen mode and audio-video is surely in sync.

The best solution is to get a replacement CD from Panasonic at
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/support/Cameras-Camcorders/Camcorders/Hard-Disk-Drive/SD-Camcorders/model.SDR-S7A
They may replace the CD at a reasonable cost (or free plus S&H). Otherwise they can suggest other editing software that can upload your recordings to the PC.

I have the same camera use on windows computers using pinnacle studio 12 with perfect outcome. if you have however Imac or other apple there might be a few more things to say I have just discovered MPEG streamclip a free program and after 5 month I can now handle the .mod files on apple as well!! mod files are basically mpeg files if you change .mod for .mpeg you wil see that the files can be played with windows media player.The file numbering from Panasonic is very odd and I suggest you first organise your files on date shoot before you change any file extension.

The internal hard drive has an issue and needs repair/replacement. I would check my manual for this message to see what remedy there may be. Maybe they tell you to reformat it - who knows. Maybe you have to reset the electronics to factory default? Check it out.
