The actual system is a RCA RS2652 ac.160v, 60Hz

Can we assume it's not turning on or something along those lines? You don't actually say what the symptom is.Generally speaking, an amp attempts to protect itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on; or it may turn on but produce no audio to the speakers. Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up. You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it. If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good. If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'nekkid'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

The 2 black and purple sub hookups on back stopped

You probably blew it up.

They call things like that 'torture tests'. A disclaimer or that little angel who should have been perched on your shoulder would have warned you of the dangers inherent in running something like that on a modest mini system. The one I found went down to 10Hz. Ho hum (pun intended) unless you have something called a '100 watt yada yada'. Live and learn.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com http://www.retrevo.com/support/RCA-RS2653-manual/id/404ci767/t/2/ Do you mean other than the ones that came with it? NOT recommended. But not impossible either. You assume all risk of equipment damage if you proceed. First, kiss your warranty goodbye. I'd go with a series connection or you WILL present too low an impedance to the modest amps. That means + to minus on one speaker, then + of that speaker to - of the next, then + of that speaker back to - on the amp. Repeat for the other channel. Start with LOW VOLUME and see how the amp reacts. Of course, you'll have no way of controlling individual volumes so if the speakers are mistmatched it won

My stereo will not recognize a cd in it. It has

Hi,
Your no disc error can be a DIY like the following steps.
Assuming that the disc is good.1.Clean the lens. - Sometimes because of dust the lens can't read any disc.Try clean the lens by soft cotton buds. Be careful while doing this.2.Replace the ribbon - Check the ribbon connected to the lens from the main board for scratch, damage. Once it has an open line then of course the lens can't read the disc. Also try to erase the contact by pencil eraser.
I've suspect that you have #1 fault on your unit. Below is just your guide.
If you've done the steps above and the symptoms still there then the next step requires you a little knowledge in soldering technique and reading the ohmmeter.3.Check the motor - Check the motor that spin the disc with an ohmmeter. You can test it using the ohmmeter (x1) even it is connected on the lens assembly.Good motor - reading should be fairly high and it will spin.Bad motor- reading will drop to low resistance and will not spin. Hint : 50% of my repaired unit the above parts are commonly caused of the problem.
If you confirmed that you have a defective motor then replace it with a new one. Before replacing the new motor you have to check the clearance of the disc holder with the old one. The clearance should be the same as the old because if not the lens will not read the disc if it is too far or too close.
Ifyou already cleaned the lens, and confirmed that the ribbon is good as well as the motor then I've advice you to send it to repair shop because the next step should be done with an expert because it is quite technical diagnosing the fault between the pick-up lens and the main board.

Pls rate if you find it helpful.

Have a nice day!

Skips alot when im playing mp3 cd and regular cds

Since this problem occurs on various disks try using a cd/dvd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alcohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd/dvd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFUL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case you can, use a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol to clean up the cd lens manually. In case this doesn't solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.

The stereo turns on fine

If you have cleaned the Laser assembly and it is not reading the disc, there are few reasons that would be the case, a bad spindle motor "pladder won't turn" stepper motor or worm gear not working "tracks the laser ***" the laser eye has become defective. The bottom line is you need a complete CD assembly to fix the problem and it probably would not be cost effective.

My RCA Stereo system 5

These units are actually nice units. There is a "loading belt" inside that controls the tray movement as well as the final "load" of the mechism into the play position. If the load does not complete, the unit will "eject" or open up. This is most often cured by replacing the loading belt. This is a common problem with any rubber component. As it ages, it gets a little slippery and thus will not have the grip to complete the loading sequence. The belt for this will run about $5.

The cd door is stuck as if a cd is out of place.

Before, when trying to see the problem, I clicked "skip" to see if it would go through all the discs. It did, but still wouldn't open the door. Later, I clicked "play" each time, then "skip", and after going through all 5 discs, the door opened. Go figure.
